This was a fantastic property, we really enjoyed our stay. The room was gorgeous with high wood-paneled ceilings and exposed brick walls. It was immaculately clean, with comfy beds and a great bathroom. Having access to a sitting area and a kitchen was a bonus. The Hico downtown was quaint and quiet, with great dining options, some fun shops, and great people. Really a tip-top place that I'd recommend for anyone in the area.

This is a beautiful place. The sandwich shop downstairs is great as is the ice cream. The owners are wonderful people who care about their community. Their music\event venue was great with wonderful entertainment.

Great attention to restoration. Loved the farm sink in the kitchen. Interesting use of antiques, great coffee, linens, snacks (Weisman Trufflles!) and maintaining historical feel of the building. The traffic noise on Hwy 6 side was the only negative. I used White Noise App on my phone & slept well.

This was our fourth time to stay at Upstairs Inn. Each time, we have stayed in different rooms. They are all wonderful! The staff is very accommodating and kind.

Liked - The location was excellent. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Dislikes- For the price of $185, the room was not the room I expected and what was displayed on the website. The concrete was cracked on the floor the room was on the lower level. The tv was very small, mounted on the wall behind the bathroom door. Had to close the door in order to see the TV. Had to call the staff because the tv was not working. No one returned my call to get the keys to access the room.

We are so sorry you didn't have the stay you expected or get the room you expected. There is only 1 downstairs access room, which is notated on the descriptions but I know the listing on Expedia is a little confusing. We understood our manager came right over and got your remote working but again, so very sorry you didn't get a return call and we failed to meet your expectations. We don't want anyone to leave unhappy and hope we get a chance to make it up to you in the future. Thank you for staying with us!

We loved it! Great Little Couples getaway.
What a cute place! It feels like the old days with the old wood floors and the Antiques. We like the common area where you can go and get coffee in the morning just like being at home. Bathrobes included only thing I could say is that maybe add some softener to the wash for those bathrobes, they were pretty scratchy LOL other than that we loved it after dinner at the Midland Hotel we came back and had ice cream downstairs. Darling town everyone is so friendly. You did a good job! We will be back again.

Perfection
This was an amazing and unexpected luxury stay. The sheets, towels, fabulous robes, chocolate on the pillow, what else could you ask for? There was a darling shared living room area, and kitchenette, all done in beautiful antique style. We loved every minute, and every detail.

This is a really cool, rustic inn in a historic building from the late 1800s, located within walking distance of just about everything in this quaint, charming town. And the staff is incredibly gracious and helpful. Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Plus, the bottom floor is a sandwich shop that smokes and slices its own turkey for its turkey sandwiches (get it on their jalapeno sourdough bread). It is INCREDIBLE!! And don't forget to order their homemade baked potato salad!! If you have problems walking or climbing stairs, this isn't for you (steep stairs are the only way up). Otherwise, this is a wonderful, charming retreat in a cool, little town.

we had a comfortable stay, the only thing the shower and tub combination was not ideal for people like us that prefer to shower and it's a very small tub. We would like go back in the future and will rather book one of the other larger rooms.

Fun stay in downtown Hico
This place is wonderful and quaint. It is downtown and so that leads to alot of daytime fun. It is upstairs the sign across the street is a bit bright but just pull down the vlonds and you will sleep like a baby. The tub is wowza and the kitchen is very close for the frig. It was quite fun.
