"The rooms are nice and a good size. The property is beautiful right on the lake! It’s convenient to Hiawassee and surrounding towns. Staff is always nice and helpful! The porches and balconies on the resort side need some repair. It would be nice to have some plastic cups to make a drink in, they only have paper coffee cups and those aren’t suitable for an iced drink. Overall we’ve stayed here multiple times and would recommend. "

"The Outpost Inn was such a wonderful stay in Highlands! Our room was darling, well appointed with a little sitting area, fireplace and record player including some throw back records that put us in the mood. Bed/bedding was great, good shower pressure and products. Each afternoon we would hang out in the common spaces and firepits and enjoy a glass of wine, 'smores and meeting other travelers. "What a gem this hotel was. It was a bit of a lucky find but glad we found it. Rooms were modern but had a rustic vibe. Room was also very spacious with a lot of room to move about. Very nice porch as well with a lovely babbling brook right outside the door. The only drawback was the 2 skylights that let in dawns light at 6am every morning, hence the 3 stars on comfort. We got used to it but it would be nice to have something set up to shade the light. We also liked easy access to extra towels...
