"Room itself fine but newly fitted shower tray flooded bathroom - Room service poor as 3 different menus give 3 different times this is available and a 4 Star hotel stopping room service at 8.00pm???? Wnen cold sandwiches came with chips quality was v poor - drie out bread a scraping of butter and over-fried oily chips - definitely not a 4 Star hotel - younger bar tender needs training on customer service and attitude. Housekeeping staff and receptionist great."

"This was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. The look of the Ribchester Arms, when we arrived, was impressive. We had a very large room and bathroom, both very modern with a 'fridge and juices, milk, drinks and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and pretty good. We ate there a couple of nights and the food was wonderful. A recommended place to stay ."

"We have stayed a few times but before the hotel was closed for a few months we always enjoyed it here. We got into the room and the TV wasn’t working properly, staff did come to try fix it then the maintenance man. He couldn’t fix it so said he would speak to reception and ask for us to be moved, we waited an hour then went to reception the message had not been passed on. "we wanted somewhere for an overnight stay after flying back from Greece to Manchester before driving back to the north east.
I'll start with the pros. beds were clean and very comfy.
tea/facilities in the room were welcome.
staff lovely.
good and safe parking.
very quiet hotel.
breakfast was delicious and just what we needed before a 2 hour plus journey.
5 minutes walk to wetherspoons where we went for tea and couple of drinks.
cons. yes it was a little dirty in places ie main passageways...

"I booked a last-minute night away at The Red Pump Inn in Bashall Eaves, and it completely surpassed my expectations. The pub and accommodation are absolutely charming, with beautiful rooms, perfect location, and wonderful ambiance. However, this 275-year-old establishment had a few surprises up its sleeve! "Room furnishings are very dated and in a state of disrepair e.g. stained carpets, furniture drawers wonky and not closing properly, door handles coming off, the list is endless! I had to request a change of room which was slightly better and the in-room safe didn’t work. And when explaining this to staff I was asked what colour the safe was and was then met with an ‘ah, ok’, as if they expected it not to be working from the colour it was, remarkable! Evening meal was no better than supermarket...
