Excellent staff, rooms, and facilities. The staff were very kind and welcoming. The included kaiseki dinner was far above my expectations. Everything was top notch!
We had a great time staying here while exploring Hakone. This place is located close to bus routes that took us to and back from Gora, while being in a quiet street perfect for relaxing at night.
The two attendants at the main counter were extremely helpful and nice, and tried their best to accommodate to our requests.
The onsen water temperature was on point! I only stayed for one night, but I went in multiple time’s because it was so relaxing.
The breakfast they serve tastes amazing as well.
This hotel was an experience. Rooms were tastefully designed in Japanese traditional style. The rooms were spacious and the hotel area was extremely quiet. Must have experience
A quiet, out of the way property with a lot of privacy and friendly people around. Lots of options for onsen or foot baths, but i enjoyed the quiet and more exclusive onsen on site.
Its a better place to stay if you travel by car or enjoy walking. It's a safe area and if rest and retreating is what you need, this is the place to be.
Every staff was very helpful, excellent services, room consider very big for 2 person..very clean and quiet environment which we enjoyed very much. Just hope they have a bigger outdoor onsen.
Beautiful hotel in Hakone! We loved our traditional room. Had a nice balcony too! Loved hearing the birds sing throughout the day. Really appreciated the option of a private onsen to enjoy as a couple. Very relaxing and cleansing. The hotel is next to a beautiful garden that lights up at night. The breakfast was a nice bonus. Also had an amazing restaurant which we visited twice only a short walk away - the restaurant is just beside the Hakone Museum of Art. Felt so pampered and relaxed. Was an awesome way to end our 2 week trip to Japan. Highly recommend!
Very nice place to stay. Near hike and waterfall. Walk from train station is steep. Fine for me, but if you are mobility challenged you should prepare.
Stunning tatami mat rooms. Stunning indoor and outdoor onsens. IF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED OR HAVE TROUBLE WITH STAIRS, DON'T STAY HERE. Our room was down two tall flights of stairs and there is NO ELEVATOR.
Also, if you plan to go to the Hakone Kowakien Yunessun, where dinner is served (it can be included in price, but it's not located at the property) you need to walk up a very steep hill. There is no shuttle, but you could call an uber. The uber would take about 2 minutes as it's very close.
Otherwise, the most beautiful room.
I recently stayed at Hakone Kowakien Miyamafurin and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the stunning surroundings. The rooms are well-maintained, clean, and the beds are very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
I noticed some reviews mentioning disappointment with the breakfast, stating it was "just bread," but I found it perfectly fine. The breakfast consisted of three delicious pastries, yogurt, orange juice, and coffee, which was enough to start my day. It's simple, but it worked for me.
