Just a 1 night stay but I found this hotel to be very clean, quiet and just a short walk from the train station. A ramline is nearby, which takes one to visit the heritage areas or town. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Japan.

Close to the train station and morning market. Staff speaks English and was very courteous. The room was larger than expected. The city tram stops right in front of the hotel making it convenient to reach the two major tourist areas within a few minutes.

Apa Eki-Mae was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, even if I didn't know Japanese. The only complaint was the bathroom is so tiny and the windows needed cleaned. Other than that everything was great. Beds were super comfy.

Location was good, short walk from Hakodate station. Room was bigger than I expected. Hotel was a bit dated not the same caliber as other APA hotels I have stayed at, but still a good value. Bath was squeaky clean.

If you're visiting Hakodate, then odds are you have stayed at some APA hotel at some point in your life. You stay at APA because it's affordable and well kept up, which holds true here as well. I've stayed in a handful of APA locations, and this location has the best customer service I've experienced at any APA. As for the building, it's probably older, but you wouldn't know because both the room and hallway are in great condition. They clearly have renovated or replaced over the years.
