"We had a great stay at The Observatory in Christchurch. It’s a beautiful hotel—formerly a university—and they’ve preserved the original aesthetic, which gives it a lot of character. The photos honestly don’t do it justice; it’s even more stunning in person. The room and bathroom were very spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless. The location is also very convenient. Would definitely recommend staying here."

"Service was very friendly and helpful. The upgrade was appreciated and the fact that I could checkin earlier after a long flight. Location is great close to a bakery in what seems like a good neighborhood. Bed was comfortable , heater in the bathroom was great Z soap, conditioner and shampoo provided. Maybe the only thing I would change is not charge extra for laundry as it’s off putting."

"We booked Studio Room for 3 nights here. We loved how clean and complete the studio is (washing machine, dryer, kitchen, etc.) Additionally, The hotel surprised us with a nice chocolate and swan decoration to celebrate our honeymoon. Note that hotel parking is paid, but you can try to find free Street parking, or pay a cheaper rate at nearby public parking. If we visit Christchurch again, will definitely stay here again!"

"The unit was super comfortable with quality fittings and bedding, fit provides everything we needed including good kitchenette facilities. The parking is secured at night with key entry which was a pleasant surprise. Location is wonderful with an easy walk to restaurants, the town centre and the new stadium. The cream on top of a really great property was the wonderful host, we will for sure be back! "

"Our room staff were very good. Always made up the room to a nice standard, clean and tidy. Our main gripe was the exorbitant room rates for a room that didn’t even supply a basic Sky connection but relied on you having an app to cover your in room viewing. Very high rate considering there were at least twenty motel units within 800 meters with vacancy’s. Will say the gardens and pool area were nicely kept."

"Didn't have breakfast, but on checkout day I asked if we could overstay by half hour or more and she was friendly and said " sure " . Just a little bit more than required. It makes a difference!"

"Parking tight as motel was full. Close to casino and town. TV options poor. Says SKY but very limited. Staff noisy around 7:30am. No consideration if you want a sleep in. "
