Guinness World Records Museum

Human potential is pushed to the brink in this fun and fascinating site, where you can dance with the stars and laugh at the bizarre stats.

Beneath an electrifying neon awning on Hollywood Boulevard stands the Guinness World Records Museum. The site attests to the feats, both comical and serious, that stretch the limits of human endurance and defy possibility. Bring your whole family to see the unusual and extraordinary records that have changed perceptions around the world.

Measure your weight and compare it to the world’s heaviest person, before seeing how you handle the lowest limbo. The site brings the records of the museum’s eponymous book to life, allowing you to see how you fare against the longest long jump and compare your height to the tallest person.

Sit in the Adrenaline Theater and get a sense for the record-breaking speeds set by humans and animals. The little ones might love some of the funnier and cruder records, while the exhibits also cover interesting and little-known facts about pop culture.

Contrast the various sports statistics and learn about technology and the natural sciences in this all-encompassing display. Compete against your friends on the quiz of wacky world records or be inspired to create your own category to attempt to establish a world record.

Consider the history of this art deco building, which began as the Hollywood Theatre in 1913. It originally played silent movies, before showing reruns of blockbuster hits in the 1970s. Note that today records are broken and judged in this very museum.

Buy a regular ticket for adults, get lower prices for kids and bring children under age 4 for free. A VIP pass will also allow entry to the Hollywood Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Find the Guinness World Records Museum on iconic Hollywood Boulevard. Ride the Metro Red Line to the station in the center of the street, which is about 8 miles (13 kilometers) northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. Explore the rest of the street for other treasures such as the Hollywood Museum, El Capitan Theatre and the TCL Chinese Theatre.
