"What a gem of a place. For a first timer in HMB, I was very impressed with the layout of this hotel. Only guests are allowed onsite (so our car felt safe); almost every room has a view of the bay; we got a free bottle of wine and glass-free wine glasses to take to the giant jacuzzi! The staff was so very helpful (the young male with the curly hair!) and he recommended the Bodega Head hike—which was phenomenal. Free continental breakfast (formally served to our table) RIGHT ON the bay. Thanks, Inn at the Tides!!"
"I’ve stayed at Surrey Resort twice now and each time has been an exceptional stay.
The location is right outside of downtown and walkable so you can just leave your car parked during your stay. Parking is easy with no issue finding a spot. Check in is easy while being informative as you’re staying in a tent and not a room in typical hotel. The staff walked me to my tent to make sure I knew where I was staying which was helpful. The layout is easy to remember and navigate.
The tent is more than just a tent. There’s flooring and you can stand easily. There’s a bed (or beds depending on which tent you choose.)
The details are thought out. When I stepped into the tent I found a flashlight provided which came in handy since I didn’t bring my own.
There’s electricity which is great to have while you’re camping.
Gym, pool and hot tub are a huge plus.
Surrey Resort makes camping easy and fun. Glamping is taken to the maximum level here.
The only quirky experience during my most recent stay was almost walking right into a skunk, but that was my fault because I wasn’t using a flashlight while walking in the dark to my tent.
Also a skunk briefly came into my tent, but that was also my fault because I did not properly close my tent door. The skunk heard me and immediately exited the tent, though and did not come any further once it realized I was present. So the two incidents are at no fault to Surrey Resort, just nature and me being naive to being outdoors! I will stay again."
"I had such a wonderful stay at Dawn Ranch! I booked this trip as a solo birthday getaway, and it exceeded my expectations. The property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by towering redwoods that make you feel completely immersed in nature.
My room was cozy, clean, and had a private deck where I enjoyed my morning coffee while listening to the birds. The pool was a great place to relax, and the entire property was well maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming, The location is perfect, with easy access to the Russian River, Armstrong Redwoods, and nearby cafés and restaurants. It was the perfect place to disconnect, unwind, and recharge."
"I miss a bathtub in my room. Most hotels are renovating rooms to showers only and that really is a disservice to a customer looking for a home feeling and ability to completely bathe and relax. Not sure who thought this would be a great idea but I strongly think "brainstormers" in leadership reconsider. Other than the lack of tub when the room description said it had one, it was fine for one night. Also, couldn't use the balcony due to California smoking laws or the threatening $250 fine and wouldn't anyway due to the huge cobwebs in each corner suggesting a huge spider in route."
