5 Stars hardware, 3.5 for maintenance
CBD location, the best part of modern Guangzhou. Nice facilities for family travelling. One of the best department hardware. But it took 15 mins for check in, 20 min for check out. Two reception staffs just kept busy for phone calls and conversations with others , leaving me confusion. Kid's play room is big but pretty mess, toys and books scattered all around the floor. Mini golf court has one golf ball only, a few damaged clubs. Mini Cinema, well the projector need a new bulb, flicker when all the light's off. After all, it's still a top 3 department in Guangzhou .

Great staff and location
It was an amazing stay! Staff was helpful and location is excellent with shopping mall and underground railway right next to hotel. Will definitely come back.

The location is convenient but it is not easy for a first time visitor to find. There’s no signage from the metro to the hotel and people do not seem to know when we asked. My executive room is very nice, unfortunately I saw a cockroach in the bathroom. Breakfast can be improved.

The smoke detector in the bed room keep flashing. Water drop sound from the bed room air conditioner. Taking shower in the bath tub will splash water out and the whole floor in the bathroom get wet. Besides that, the room is nice, good TV, beverages, etc. And very clean.

Good location and Very Near Metro station
Great room with all the amenities. Pity I stayed only 1 night. Upon checking out, it was raining and i had asked receptionist how far to the metro. She said that the entrance was by the building with red wall which looked like 70+ metres away. As I did not have an umbrella she suggested that i take a taxi there. I then found out from the doorman that the entrance to metro station was only across the road about 20m away. Didn't give me a good impression of that receptionist.

Location is very good. Lots of restaurants walking distance plus the park in Zhujiang its fantastic. However the hotel is not that well known by taxi drivers so for the unexperienced traveller may be challenging to get there

Very Nice Hotel But Need to offer Forex Exchange
We had a wonderful stay and lovely room. Everything is as advertised but there was only 1 problem. We came as international guest and did not have any local currency. The hotel will not change a few RMB for us. They said we should go to four season hotel next door at almost midnight, we went there and they would not change because we are not guest(which I think they should already have known before sending us there). They told us to go to an atm machine next morning which is a weekend, we went there and machine was broke. Now mind you this is the second day. We couldn't eat when we arrived because we had no money and room service was closed at 10pm. We needed to get to the show and they will not even bill the taxi to our room in this time of need eventhough they took almost a 1000RMB as deposit. We were left to fend for ourselves. Until we got an atm further away of walking on the third day to withdraw money. We witnessed 2 more people coming to the front desk to ask for forex change and was also denied. It is very much an inconvenience as you never know when this emergency would arise and you typically expect a hotel to have at least a limited Forex Exchange for guests. Though I was excited to stay at Ascott as my first stay this experience nearly too it away but it's still a great place.

The place is kind of in between a place to stay for a business meeting and stay long term, as if it couldn't decide itself. The apartment is spacious, well builtand very modern. The layout for a long stay could be way better - I can't imagine moving in with stuff for a year-long stay, although there is plenty of room overall, not much of good storage options. Location for business is excellent. Breakfast is big in volume and okay in offer. Overall it's a high quality accomodation, just lacking a character.

Good location but hotel has issues
Had really high hopes for this property from reading the amazing reviews, but sadly we had an average stay. We recently had x3- 1 bedroom apartments booked. Rooms are not consistent in layout and design. They are semi modern in design. The Interiors are starting to age with old wallpaper tearing, chip marks. Basic cleaning is done but other areas were regular cleaning isn’t done post check out needs to be reviewed by management. Our room we had noise issues from an apartment upstairs with a guest on the phone at 2am (for an hour), woke us up, this happened two nights. Our friends in another room had issues with mostiques in their room 7 floors up. breakfast is buffet style, with western and Asian food options. The food quality was pretty average, the freshest items available was the fruit and yoghurt. These are only. Few of the issues we faced, there were more. The plus side is the location of the hotel, 3mins to metro and short walk to canton tower, supermarket a short walk. We have stayed in two other apartment hotels in Guangzhou over the last 5years and this one sadly didn’t reach the mark. They really need to address, breakfast, cleaning, reception staff English abilities, and update the rooms to match other property’s available at a better price point.

Book an apartment for 3 adults, end up getting a king sized bed . Told the staff its impossible for 3 men to share a bed . How could a 3 adult booking get a single king End up paying much more because staff insist on charging RMB 200 per bed per day. We requested to pay more to upgrade to a bigger apartment with more beds. They give you a dumbfound face as if they cannot understand . We spoke in Mandarin and also English. If that didnt help then we are lost what language they would be able to understand

Have previously stayed at an Ascott redidence in Shenzhen, though i only realised this as i entered the apartment. Stayed on the top floor (28), great views of the GZ city scape, everything was immaculate, ammenities inc kitchen area and barhroom were well designed and a cut above anything else in GZ hotel wise. The biggest draw for this hotel/apartment is the sheer living space, an ample kitchen and living area complete with state of the art bose sound system & sony lcd tv, all with usb, hdmi and ethernet connectivity located at the desk area so you didnt have to fumble around with the tv. Breakfast was good, though i didnt have much time to enjoy as i always slept in due to very comfortable bed!!! Great choice for business travel and family vacations. PROS: Layout / Size Tech done right Great value per sqm NEG: No Room service so you have to fend for yourself!! But hey its a serviced apartment. Also entrance is round the back of IFC so initially hard to find. (Very minor neg)

Booked hotel for location relating to business event. Facilities nice though initially given a room on high floor with city views but terrible smell of cigarettes. Asked to change room, initially told they will clean the room, finally changed to a new room which was on lower floor, not as nice of a view but no smell. Loved the indoor pool and sauna, breakfast was pretty good also.

Very spacious living room area, loved the view from the floor to ceiling windows. I booked a one bedroom but by the time I checked in (around 4pm) the room wasn't ready, so I guess they gave me a bigger room but locked two of the bedrooms. Bedding could use a better pillow as the current ones are too soft. Very good price for the size of the room given the location (nearby hotels with half of the room size probably cost twice as much). Breakfast was your typical western style buffet but not a lot of choices. The hotel comes with facilities such as indoor swimming pool, gym, and yoga room (swimming pool requires you to wear a swim cap, but you can borrow it from the hotel. I thought it was a little weird though since people from the dining room and gym can look into the pool and watch you swim). Since it's a service apartment more than a hotel, it comes with a kitchen and all the dishware and appliances, which could be good if you want to eat-in. Nearby restaurants and foodcourt also offer a lot of dining options. Will love to stay there again.

I was impressed by these apartments, I have visited Guangzhou many times for Cantor Fair and this is the first time I have used a serviced apartment option. I would repeat again any time I visit Guangzhou for a fair.
