"The rooms are clean although a little dated. The bed was very comfortable. We arrived around dark and were extremely exhausted from many hours of driving. We were up early the next morning and on the road again. We stayed here 2 different times in a 10 day period, on the way to Florida and on the way back. It wasn't the first time we've stayed here and probably won't be the last. The area just west of there on I24 is beautiful and we would love to actually STAY in the area sometime instead of just passing through. If you are actually staying for a while, book a cabin, they are well worth it (did that in the past). Would also be really nice if they got their restaurant fully opened back up like it was before the fire some years ago; I was lucky enough to enjoy a great breakfast there in 2019."

"We recently stayed at The Read House hotel in Chattanooga and were very disappointed by how a serious cleanliness issue was handled. Ou our first evening, we found a live cockroach in our room. We killed it and immediately called the front desk. Someone to pick up the tissue with the bug, without saying a word and left. We never received an apology, follow-up or any acknowledgement afterward.
At checkout, we mentioned the incident again to a different staff member, and she didn't react or apologize either, which lead us to believe that this was not an isolated incident and that the hotel staff is aware of the issue. For a hotel in this price range, we expect at least a basic acknowledgment of the situation and some reassurance that it would be addressed.
This experience really affected our impression of the hotel."
