Smaro studios is a beautiful property with private suites facing the caldera. It's worth noting that it is a 10-15 minute walk downhill to Fira, although the bus stop is close and viable, and that each evening you'll fight the uphill on a full stomach. The manager/owner is helpful and the suites are kept cleaned daily. Ultimately a very nice getaway and would rebook again.

The property was in a perfect location. We found that our sunset view of the caldera was best from our hotel balcony and private hot tub. The only things we would request be improved are the temperature on the hot tub as it was more of a “cool tub” and the simple addition of a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the housekeeper. The owner and son were wonderful and very delightful to work with. Unfortunately, the housekeeper would come without fail every time we would take a shower which placed unnecessary pressure on us. All can be solved with the addition of a DND sign. Overall phenomenal stay with minor improvements. We loved Smaro Studios.

The stay at Smaro Suites was excellent. The room was very spacious and clean. It had all the amenities you needed and the location was great. The team there is also great. They went above and beyond in helping to make all requests and accomodations. Whatever we needed we asked and they made it happen. They are very nice and allowed us to stay on the property and even use a Jacuzzi after we checked out and waited until our flight in the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone searching for a great place to stay with good views and a very friendly staff!

Loved the gorgeous view of the Mediterranean Sea. A welcoming staff upon arrival with a pot of coffee, juice or tea. The coffee was absolutely delicious along with the instant packs. A full breakfast served daily on your terrace. Robes, slippers, blow dryer & complimentary fruit & wine along with water, coke & beer in the refrigerator. Tea kettle provided as well. Was at lovely stay with a nice staff!!

Stunning view of the caldera!
What an absolutely breathtaking location! You cannot beat the view of the Luxury Suite. Every morning, we had our incredible breakfast while sitting on our deck looking out. Wow. That view will stay with me forever. Loved the location, Fira was great and the sunset from my deck was just as great as the one in Oia. If you are on the fence, this place is 100% worth it. Just a note, if you need to communicate prior to your reservation, send an email if you dont speak Greek! I called multiple times and the nice lady simply couldn't understand me, nor I her. Email was the best way to get answers.

We loved staying at Smaro. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Maria and son Mike (owners) were awesome as were the cleaning lady and the man who brought breakfast to our balcony each morning (didn’t get their names) and the view is fantastic. Room nicely clean each day. Loved having a private balcony even though we had a courtyard room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Views are fantastic. We spent a couple of nights just sitting on the balcony to watch sunset because it’s as good as anywhere. Don’t get why people think Oia is so great and it’s a gong show at sunset, good luck escaping after lol. The area is quiet in the evening compared to Fira but Fira only 10-15 minutes walk, uphill on way back. There’s a gyro place a minute away that serves a variety of to go meals and some nights we just got a 6 euro gyro and ate it on the balcony with drinks watching sunset. It was actually better than the 75 euro dinner with a view we had in Fira. The view wasn’t better there, just different. You don’t need to go broke on Santorini if you don’t want to. Maria helped us with finding a caldera cruise and we did the King Thira ship that goes to the volcanos in middle and lunch/swim on Thirassia. It’s all you need and cheap. Walk to Oia is cool too and bus back cheap. Also rented an ATV at Tonys (Maria suggestion). It’s nearby and cheap, awesome fun way to see the island. At end, walked to bus stop and got to airport for 1.6 euro each. Highly recommend Smaro.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room and view is just as pictured. The breakfast was delicious even as vegans. They really looked after us meeting us to help with luggage and having lovely robes and slippers in the room, it felt like a 4 star service. Room is fairly compact but really lovely, bed extremely comfortable and view amazing, hairdryer powerful and bathroom toiletries good quality. The only small thing I would have liked is hair conditioner. If staying for a while you’d probably want to book a room with some outdoor lounging area rather than just table and chairs but for a short stay this was ideal for us and great value for the location with volcano views. Firastefani is fairly quiet which we really liked too

Must stay hotel in Santorini, absolute hidden gem! The hosts were extremely warm, welcoming and professional with rooms that are modern, fresh and super clean. We had been island hopping around the cyclades islands as part of our trip, and this has been our best hotel BY FAR. The view is a priceless element of your stay! Every morning we had breakfast brought to our room which was a beautiful mix of continental options. Then in the evenings to avoid the crowds we should stop by the shops to grab a bottle of local wine and enjoy the sunset in peace, away from the crowds and expensive sunset bars. We even went to Oia to see the Blue Dome Chruches at sunset one evening and wished we were just sitting on our perfect sunset balcony instead. The location of the hotel is also a stones throw away from the center of Fira (5/10min walk) this meant exploring the local town, restaurants, and museums was super convenient and easy. Could not recommend staying at Smaro Studios anymore!

Great stay at Smaro Studios in the luxury suite! Looks better in real life than in pictures, immaculately clean, beautiful view and fairly private as well. Breakfast brought to the patio every morning was wonderful and different each day - omelettes, pancakes, fresh fruits, coffee etc. They are able to store luggage as well. Located in Firostefani away from all the hustle and bustle of Fira, but within 10-15 min walking distance from the numerous restaurants and the bus station in Fira. Highly recommended property and great value for the price.

I saw the prior reviews and went with very high expectations and I must say they were still exceeded beyond any in recent memory As others have indicated you could go to Oia or to a nearby ‘restaurant with a view’ ( we tried both of these) for the sunsets or you could just sit on the balcony outside your room for a comparable if not better view It was an amazing experience at Smaro and if you are considering a trip to Santorini would highly recommend Smaro for your stay The Firostefani location the specific vantage point of the studio and the personal care from Mike and Maria all work in its favor

We had the best stay in a two-floor suite with private hot tub. The view was amazing! The breakfast was huge and delicious. Short walk to Fira bus station, shops, and restaurants. Only complaints are the hot tub wasn’t very hot and we had some difficulty finding the hotel reception.

Smaro studios is a beautiful and clean property. Our room had an amazing sea view and was close to many shops and restaurants. The breakfast was incredible and delivered right to our room. The staff were helpful and arranged us transport from the port to the property as well as transport to the airport. I would recommend staying at Smaro Studios to anyone staying in Santorini. :)

From the amazing location to the breathtaking views and super luxurious suit our experience with the owners was nothing sort of amazing! I will be returning and staying here again. When I say there is so much to do in the area from shopping to eateries and clubs are all walking distance. We stayed in the exclusive suite which had a shower downstairs and one upstairs with an open concept.The bed was super comfortable and the water got super hot in the shower . Unfortunately, for the jacuzzi that wasn’t the case it was warm no where near hot. But everything else about this property was top tier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Smaro Studios is a gem! Mike; the owner is amicable and endearing. He shared the history of his beloved grandmother Smaro and the significance of honoring his family heritage which is now also his business brand in the hospitality industry. The studio is perfectly nestled alongside the magnificent Caldera cliffs. The room is impeccably clean and well maintained! Breakfast a daily feast is served on your own private patio overlooking the Aegean Sea and some of the most exhilarating views endlessly stretched out for miles. Above one’s head literally is the famous To Briki restaurant. An April stay in Santorini guarantees a reservation or a walk in. The food here is delectable! Both your palate and your stomach will simultaneously dance as they engage in the tantalizingly fresh well flavored selections. Octopus and Mousakka are a must have! The staff is attentive and after dining there multiple times they become your extended family! Also within walking distance is Mama Thira, another amazing restaurant with fresh fish selections! Your server will even debone your fish upon serving! You can also walk to Fira easily from Smaro Studios. You will be mesmerized for miles as you inhale the breathtakingly awe inspiring views. The shopping in Fira is exceptional! Run, don’t walk book Santorini now! This has been one of the most amazing vacations ever; definitely ten out of ten! Do go to Santorini and stay at Smaro Studios your heart will thank you for it💕

Our flight arrived early in the morning and the room was not ready. The owner was very nice and offered us breakfast on the terrace outside our room. It was a big breakfast too not just a pastry and juice. Once we were able to check in, she showed us everything in the room. While the room was small, it was comfortable and clean. The view of the water is gorgeous. I was able to watch the sunset.

This was probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. First of all the location is perfect. It is very close to Fira and all the shops but Firostefani is quieter and the hotel is tucked away in a street that most tourists don’t visit. The view of the caldera is stunning. On top of that the hotel staff were very sweet and accommodating. We arrived on an early flight and they gave us breakfast while we waited for check in. Breakfast was delivered throughout the stay on a large tray to the patio. It was delicious and I think they took it as a personal challenge to give us more food than we could eat. We were also given complimentary Vinsanto wine that I’m still thinking about. The suite itself was amazing. We had a two story room with a private hot tub. One of the coolest experiences was sitting in the hot tub and sipping Vinsanto with that view. Honestly, no complaints. This was our honeymoon stay and it was absolutely perfect.

Smaro Studios is probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in - clean, comfortable, friendly staff, and incredible views! The property was a bit hard to find because the signs on the Caldera are for 'Santorini Sea View' - but once I found it staff were there and happy to show me to my room. Great experience!

The View from this property is insane. Walk out and see the amazing caldera. Honestly from our tour around the island I didn't see a better view than right from our balcony. Mike was very helpful with everything and had breakfast plus my favorite espressos delivered to me each morning. If this is available during your stay don't hesitate book this!!!

This is a wonderful place to stay at. It's first line to the ocean and the view is fantastic. Maria and her crew are very kind and do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay. They welcomed us with a mini fridge with water and pops. Their breakfast was good too. I'd go back to this place over and over.

Beautiful property, awesome people. We stayed for 3 nights at this property in king exec room, view from our room was unbelievable. < 10 steps to get to room. Many restaurants were close by also. Breakfast was served in front porch every morning. Mike was awesome for answering all my questions, arranged for airport / ferry transfers too. Cannot praise enough the location and staff.
