"Great location right near the dock for our cruise. Tremendous parking, and they even allowed us to leave the car for the duration of the cruise even though we had checked out that morning. Room was serviceable with good ventilation. Their adjacent restaurant served a tasty breakfast. Overall, we were pleased."

"Great stay! Spacious rooms at a quiet property a couple miles outside of Seward. Nicely stocked kitchenette (has a refrigerator and microwave, no stove). Modern, clean (and did I mention quiet?), and surrounded by spruce trees and mountain views. The property has keypad locks and an online portal so you don't have to worry about who has the key, but pay special attention to the check-in time and access. When I visited some out-of-the-way parts of the property were still under construction."

"We stayed in the Mountain View Cabins, which were perfect for our stay with a family of 4. The bathrooms in these cabins were incredible- completely updated and spacious for our bathroom needs. Beds and living area were what you'd expect- comfy beds, easy storage for suitcases, and the fridge/microwave worked well. The breakfast at the restaurant was good, but not spectacular- not that it needed to be- it got the job done and got us started on our days. The gem of this place is the outdoor space in general- the lake, the dock, the kayaks and canoes, and covered fireplace, etc. We used the canoes and kayaks often, and lifejackets were included. We were able to fish and swim off the dock. And the covered gas fireplace was perfect for s'mores and hanging out. It really was an awesome space for just being outdoors. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return in the future! Brandon and Lindsey were very welcoming and helpful."

"The location of the Bear Necessities cottages is rural and quiet, yet close to town. Our cottage, though small, was clean and comfortable with a good shower. There is no air-conditioning, which is typical in Alaska. Heat was provided by a diesel heater. This was a little unusual, but we got used to it and it worked fine. No complaints. Would easily stay here again."
