"The front desk staff Kritina on the evening shift was amazing. The property was clean but dated. We had four people, a king with a sofa bed and the sofa bed was essentially springs covered in cloth, no one should be asked to sleep on that regardless of the price of the hotel room. The hotel needs to get all new sofa mattresses. The front desk staff very kindly upgraded us to be able to all sleep in beds."

"The room was large but stark. It lacked furniture and a place to put luggage - no luggage racks and no dresser. Ironing board was a table top version but no place other than the floor to put it. The king bed was mushy and caved to the center. Bathroom was old and small and needed a deep cleaning. A/C worked well and the staff was pleasant."

"We needed an affordable place that could easily access Manhattan. This hotel is in the Bronx. We walked to the Botanical Gardens. It may not be a place for the less intrepid, but the location was good for us as it’s walking distance to Gun Hill Rd subway stop. We could see it from our room, so that was fun."

"Highbridge is a hidden gem. It's a 6-10 minute walk to Yankee Stadium. Our room was large. The hotel was clean and the staff were super friendly."

In addition, the prices of other nearby hotels have become astronomical. I was in the area for my 50th high school reunion about a mile down the road at Orienta Beach Club. "Hotel staff and location was very good They were doing some remodeling work so the restaurant was not open which would of been convenient for us and it would of been nice to have some outdoor seating area for smokers or just somewhere to enjoy the nice weather"
