Much of Gili Trawangan is still undeveloped (or being developed), which displaces the local creatures, that sneak into the rooms under the doors or in the air vents in the bathroom. I'm so glad that you didn't have a return of the bug. They do not live there, they just come and try to find a new home... I'm so sorry about the sandy sheets. Sometimes Julie, the cat, comes to "help" clean the room of her house (she thinks she owns it all), and leaves sand on the bed. I will remind the staff to check for that when they clean the rooms. I have since communicated the importance of this issue and will continue to work with the staff so that guests feel safe at PURI SAYANG. I do regularly discuss culture differences with the staff and understand that it is an ongoing process. Reviews such as these are very helpful! Power is an issue on Gili Trawangan - at times some areas have power shut off (for various reasons) which is VERY inconvenient. We do have a generator that can supply some power, (but we are not allowed to run it all night unfortunately due to our locate). We have hooked up our power to another power main a few blocks away which means that if one area doesn't have power, we can switch to the other - which does help if the power outage is not island wide, but has helped us keep power to our guests. Thank you so much for staying in our standard rooms at Puri Sayang Bungalows. We were very sorry to see in your review that you thought there was a charge for breakfast and that your room was not cleaned. We are confused because we immediately spoke with the staff and they said that they did clean your room every day and that you did not want breakfast. They also said that you did not ask for new towels. I'm wondering if there was a communication breakdown? We do have an information card in the room that says the breakfast times and mentions that breakfast is available if your package does not include breakfast - your package did include breakfast. Also on that card we mention that to save island resources we do not change sheets and towels every day - but you can have them changed if you need them. I will make a new information card to avoid confusion in the future because we do not want guests disappointed. Could you please contact us with more details because we want to do the best we can for our guests and make sure all issues are addressed. Happy Travels!

We are so sorry to hear your issues with the room and appreciate you bringing them to our attention. I’m wondering if there was a communication problem, because when I asked the staff about the room, they said that you did not want them to clean it. Our policy is to the clean the room every day. Being located on a tropical island (only 150 meters from the beach), we do get insects that can wander in under the doors so it is important that the rooms are checked each day. There is building happening across the road and the bugs seem to be trying to relocate. It is important to make sure to let the staff know if and when you have a problem so that they can help resolve it during your visit. It is frustrating to see problems in reviews - at this time we can’t help. Being a small Bed and Breakfast, we do not offer milk with breakfast. Only the standard tea, coffee or water along with your toast, pancake or eggs with fruit salad. Happy travels!

They recently make the towers taller so that it can be heard all around the center area on Gili Trawangan. Around Ramadan time (which just finished), it does tend to be louder. We are hoping that the loud mosque issue (which is a problem all over the tourist area on Trawangan) will be addressed soon. We are lucky to be located just 2 streets back from the beach and not near any of the clubs that have loud music until 3 am (or later), which plagues many other accommodations on the island. Sometimes it is not so fast because there are too many users. We have just changed the password again and the WI FI is faster again. Sometimes the password gets shared with guests at other bungalows and hostels nearby...... Always let staff know if there is an issue with WI FI or air conditioning. Some things we can't change (such as low power being sent to us from the island power company which means the AC is not as strong), but if we know about it we can try to fix it (such as changing the wi fi password) Please come and stay with us again!
