Great hotel with a a beautiful view and beach
The hotel is in a great location. We stayed in the bungalow and it was clean and comfortable beds. Has a room safe and mini fridge and air conditioning unit. The shower pressure was a bit weak but what do you expect on an island. The beach was right in front and beautiful snorkeling right out front. The beach is white and sandy but when on the edge it is full of shells so very sharp so needed some water shoes and purchased them right down the way. The staff who worked there were extremely friendly and professional. The Bali people are truely so friendly. The breakfast is good. Has all you need for the day. They always had water available for consumption. Had dinner there the last night and it was good. We tried to support the staff there as they are so nice and the island was closed for 2 years. Rented the bikes for five dollars a day and loved this about the island. No motorized vehicles on the island so that is really nice. Horse and carts or walking is how you get around. Rented a boat for the day just my husband and myself for 85$ Australia a day and that was nice. Went to all three Gili islands. I would also say hotels dot com to have a minimum characters of one million characters is a bit much. I don't even write that much to anyone and it is a deterrent to write a review but I am doing one anyways because I want people to know how awesome this resort is and how the staff deserve the businesses. So now I'm just going to say great island.

We paid more than we would have liked to for accommodation at Sunrise so you kind of expect more. The receptionist was very new but check in was awkward & we weren't given no information on the property. It was very quiet with guests when we were there, seemed like more staff sitting around than customers We arrived for breakfast the next day not realising it was a buffet style (nobody told us) & you have to find staff to order eggs/pancakes from Beachfront property & the snorkeling right infront of the hotel was the best place on the island for this so this was great 😀 Tons of sunbeds on the beach & asked if there were another beach umbrella to which the staff said their wasn't so about 4 in total for all these beach sunbeds?! The room was really nice & was nice to have a pool too but overall was disappointed in the hotel & the money we had spent here, it just seemed to lack any management or atmosphere

This is certainly the prettiest and most comfortable hotel on the island. The pool is oh, so pretty, the position is right on the beach and the service ultra kind and unobtrusive. A romantic lifetime memory of the very best kind.

We loved our stay at Sunrise Gili Air for 4 nights during our honeymoon! The resort itself is in the perfect location on Gili Air - about 10 minutes from the harbour and located right next to the best snorkelling spot on the island! Lots of great restaurants and snorkel/dive shops nearby. We stayed in one of the Signature suites with a big, comfortable bed and daybed on the main floor, and an open air loft with 2 hammocks and bean bag chairs up top. The pool area is big, beautiful and well maintained, and the restaurant is gorgeous as well! The buffet breakfast in the morning was great, and every staff member we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful! There are loungers overlooking the ocean, which get swapped out for romantic candle lit tables for dinner. Overall we loved our stay at Sunrise Gili Air and would definitely recommend it!

Superb hotel
This is a perfect hotel. Fabulous location with turtles swimming on the adjoining reef in the morning. Stylish grounds and a lovely pool and ultra friendly. Wonderful food. Superb service. A short walk from the harbour. Near everything. Wow it was amazing!

The location is fantastic and the room, bathroom, pool, service were incredible. They are currently renovating and there is A LOT of construction being done which I wish I would have known. It was hard to enjoy the property during the day with all of the clinking and sawing of construction happening on all sides of the room. But the staff were incredible and the proximity to great snorkling is unbeatable. I just wish we would have known about the construction for all of the money we had spent. Without construction, I would revisit in an instant.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, always smiling and welcoming. The suite we stayed in was a pleasant surprise - very spacious and nice, although not as polished as some people may require, however we were quite comfortable and Sunrise is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

We loved Sunrise Gili Air. It was the perfect location, with incredible snorkeling right outside the hotel, lovely bungalows, super comfortable beds, lovely staff, GREAT food, and lovely sunbeds to relax on and look at the beautiful view. It was by far our favorite place to eat on the island and we truly hardly left the grounds. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Gili Air.

I only write reviews if it is extremely horrible or over the top good. Unfortunately, Sunrise Gili Air was an awful choice for our stay in Gili Air. When we arrived late in the afternoon we were quickly taken to our first row suite bungalow only to find out the air conditioner wasn't working. I advised the front desk immediately who called housekeeping. A young man showed up who didn't speak English and held is hand over the vent and shrugged his shoulders. They offered to move us to another room for the night but that room didn't have working air conditioning either. Then we were told a new unit would be there tomorrow. I asked for a refund and told them I wanted to move to another resort. The front desk said I had to pay a cancellation fee if I chose to leave! I had purchased the most expensive room in their resort to have the worse stay possible! Also, there was blood on the sheets and the toilet would not flush. At checkout, I was offered USD $25 for the inconvenience of no air conditioning for the first night and all night the next day. Also, quite coincidental the new unit showed up on the next day which tells me Sunrise Gili Air new the air conditioning was bad! This resort is definitely a zero to one star at the very best. I highly recommend you DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!

When we first checked in at this hotel, my partner went for a swim in the pool while I settled our things into the room. He was rudely approached by a staff member named "Chris" a blonde guy with longer hair who said that he had to leave the pool and that it was for guests only. My partner replied "My friend I'm staying at this hotel" To which the staff member replied "I'm not your friend and I'll have to go and check that" When he returned he continued to ask my partner to leave the pool, but shortly after realized his mistake. He tried to explain that a lot of people try and use the pool, however we stayed for three days and not even hotel guests used the pool much, and the rude factor was not necessary. It left a bad feeling after having just checked into the hotel. The hotel room was not that great, and had a off putting smell to it. Also saw bugs and lizards crawling around the walls. The staff in the kitchen also tried to charge us for food and drinks from a previous day and during this time we weren't even on Gili Air but on Gili Meno. Breakfast was not appetizing and very disorganized. Order part of your food, and the other part of your meal arrives half an hour later. Not impressed, would definitely not recommend to anyone.

Great stay. Beautiful location. But due to rebuilding of beachfront on whol island lots of debris and poor road conditions. Resort was great. Definitely would recommend.

Unfortunately did not have a great stay here. The room was at the back and while adequate it was very unclean. The floor was dirty and stained. I asked the attendant if he could wash the floor. He said they did not have a mop. I asked the front desk if I could get my floor mopped. Didn't happen. The breakfask was disappointing. Instant coffee, powdered juice, fruit that was old,white bread, etc. Pool area was fine, quiet and relaxing. The location is on the southern part of Gili. The beach has lots of garbage on the shore and in the water. The north side was quiter and much cleaner There hotels cleaned and raked the beach. Originally scheduled to stay for 6 days but left after 4. Management was good enough to refund my 2 days. Overall really disappointed with the island. If has a lot of garbage and refuse around and smells of rotting food. Too much tourism unfortunately.

we travelled to Gili Air expecting having a fab time, the hotel was a big disappointment over rated, breakfast good, restaurant menu food awful cold and raw in some DO NOT EAT THERE, , hotel/restaurant toilets a disgrace I’ve seen better public wc’s, sunbeds have no mattresses hard as a rock you can’t get comfortable, no hot water or fridges in the standard rooms and sleeping is up a ladder not suitable for children or mature guests wc’s on ground floor. 3 times a day you will get disturbed by pray music the best one is at 430am !!! last approx an hour each time, wifi useless, cats everywhere even in restaurant, you are only allowed 1 towel per day for beach or pool. It’s sounds like I’m moaning but I have cause too. In your rooms there is NO tv or telephone (so if there’s an emergency you have to shout for help or run to reception for help reception is not 24 hour and no room service if you wanted it, night life none not even a bit of background music would have been nice, we knew this was a chill place to go but not dead as a dodo very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️☹️

We stayed one night in one of the beach view suites. We are family of four so the beadroom was a bit tight but fine for one night. The terrace was super! Dinner, breakfast and other lounge services just fine. Also nice pool.

We had a fantastic, restful stay at Sunrise Gili Air towards the end of our trip to Indonesia. The resort is right at the beach, at the most happening strip of the island, about a 10-15 mins walk from the harbour. The beach access was perfect for snorkeling. The decor is very tasteful. From our round of the island, it seemed like this was one of the best resorts to stay at. The staff were superb - very warm, welcoming and friendly. Restaurant was great. Laundry service was affordable with a 2-day turnaround. On our last night, my partner fell ill with a stomach bug (no fault of the resort) and I was grateful that reception had medication available on-site for immediate relief. It was the perfect place to relax!

Lovely accomodation set in gardens by the pool, very clean, spacious and nicely decorated rooms. Bar/ restaurant on the beach served good food, could snorkel win turtles from the beach. Diving, paddle boarding places next door. Good breakfast options. Overall highly recommend.

Chill, snorkel and chase turtles.
Great location and great hotel. Clean and beautiful room (we had deluxe) , thus there were a number of families with small children during our stay. Snorkeling straight from the beach with turtles visiting the area in the morning and nice sand beach just on the right from the hotel. Overall loved the stay in Gili Air and Sunrise Hotel.

Location on the beach, staff and pool are great. We stayed in a 2 storey deluxe bungalow and the room was clean but very tired. Would have been fine but for the amount we paid we were disappointed. We asked to be moved on our last night and changed to a new 1 storey deluxe room and it was nice. Maybe only choose the new rooms if you are booking a deluxe room

Great hotel to chill out at
My wife and I spent a week at the Sunrise Hotel and thought it was a great place to stay in the main beach hotel area of Gili Air. We went in early September, after the peak season and had a two storey chalet by the pool. This was quiet and we really enjoyed sitting on the upper deck early in the evening before dinner. Only one night was slightly noisy, Tuesday nights is beach party night in one of the nearby bars (and I am a little old for them now!). The restaurant was good, the pool area great and the beach was good for snorkeling. Whilst Gili Air is not big, we found it very convenient to wander along the road to numerous restaurants and bars with live music etc. It made it a fun place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay with them very enjoyable. With trips to Gili Meno and Scuba diving I did not find a week too long to stay as some have suggested, particularly as we wanted to unwind. Apparently there are some big hotels planned for the island which could spoil the laid back atmosphere on Gili Air.

A very charming and comfortable stay on Gili Air
We loved out stay here! Staff were so helpful. Our bungalow was a bit shabby around the edges but we just embraced this as island charm! That being said, the space was huge with a bathroom/ chill out area downstairs and upstairs to the bedroom and another toilet. The pool and bar area were in great condition and well maintained. The breakfast was good with stunning views on the seafront. The Sunrise is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach slightly off the main beaten track. Didn't want to leave..

Stylish hotel in good location
We stayed at Sunrise for one week, this was a good trip length. A well managed resort with lovely pool. Bed was comfortable enough and lots of different restaurants nearby. Great for kids.

My partner and I had one of the Deluxe Suites which needed a bit of TLC. Sunrise have just added new suites in the front and back which look a lot nicer. The staff are lovely and Location is perfect. Best side for snorkeling and views. And turn right and you have a nicer array of shops and beaches. Pool was full of children however we didn't have much time to sit and relax with all the activities we did. We would recommend staying here for sure but get one of the newer rooms.

Fantastic accommodation
We spent 1 week at Sunrise with friends and stayed in the 2nd row bungalows. Overall it was difficult to fault the resort. The staff in particular were extremely helpful and friendly. The bungalows were clean and spacious with a fantastic outdoor bathroom and sun deck. The breakfast (included) was superb every day.

We stayed in Sunrize for two days during our trip to Bali. it was a pleasant experience and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were friendly. pros: 1. The room was pretty big 2. . The breakfast menu for the vegetarian were good 3. fridge, locker, furniture were all good. 4. The location is awesome right by the beach. enjoyed the sunrise from the room. 5. The dinner in the restaurant was nice cons: 1. The bedding was very uncomfortable. It was giving of heart in the night. couldn't sleep properly for two days 2. WiFi was very slow 2. The pool was just okay 3. No free sandal in the room 4. The locker is small, can't put the laptop inside

Staff were superb, always willing to help. Nice and close to the beach (on it apart from the small road separating the dining areas). Snorkelling was amazing. I run at a hot temperature so struggled a bit, our room was room 12 it had a few large cracks in doors etc with let insects in which ate me up a bit. But overall I would recommend this place.

A little piece of paradise.
Thus place was amazing, staff friendly, surroundings stunning and the bungalows cute as. My daughter and I loved it. The only thing I could fault was not enough real Indonesian dishes on the menu.

Just go anywhere else
Don not book a deluxe room. It is maybe ten square meters. After hours of complaining, I received a ten percent refund. I would never stay here again or suggest it to anyone. Terrible management all across the board. Not what you want when on vacation.

A nice place to stay on gili air. Didn’t see anything that looked better. Beautiful coral reef right outside the hotel. Staff is nice and helpful but they do overlook customers at the restaurant/bar quite a lot.

Der var utroligt mange tusindben, larver og lignende da vi kom til værelset. Badeværelset lugtede forfærdeligt, og aircon virkede stort set ikke… der var meget lidt lys på ressortet så det var lommelygte det meste af vejen. Maden var under standard til prisen
