I knew this was not a 4 or 5 star property. I simply wanted a basic place to stay prior to going on a cruise the next day. We arrived at 5:15 PM and the room was not ready. We waited outside and it took about 40 minutes for the room steward to get the room ready. Towards the end, I noticed the cleaner was using a broom to sweep the floor instead of the vacuum she had on her cleaning cart. When I asked, “Why are you using a broom instead of the vacuum” she replied “Sometimes it works better”. Instead of rambling on about all the specifics about the room, I’ll describe it like this… we and our kids did not want to touch surfaces or take our shoes off because of how dirty the room environment was. Luckily, the bed sheets were actually clean. At this point what would have been the point in complaining to the front office. We were very happy to leave in the morning. Next time I will pay double and stay with a different brand. Overall cleanliness should really be a standard and not reserved for high-end brand accommodations.

This place was so dirty and stink so bad. The first room smelled like someone urinated everywhere in the room. The second one we were stuck in smelled like old mildew and reeked from the urine smell from the room next door we were initially given. The microwave and fridge were rusted out. The tiles in bathroom were loose and there was no hot water at all. I’ve stayed at Motel 6 in the past and never was so disappointed. Only because all of Galveston was sold out I had to actually tolerate this second room. Oh did I mention the German roaches everywhere??? Omg. Horrible experience!!!!

I loved that everyone that worked there was super friendly and respectful. The customer service was on point! 10 mins walking distance from the beach, grocery store, liquor store and best of all waffle house is right next door! Very convenient location. Bad traffic.

Scaffolding outside the rooms. floors with holes in it and very uneven. cockroaches the size of toads. No second lock on the door.
