Nice and quite, needs a bit of updating
Check in was quick and efficient. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quieter part of the city, so there was hardly any noise. The room was large enough, but the bathroom can do with a bit of updating, it was clean, just a bit tired. Breakfast was ok, it might be a bit helpful to have a menu so that people can order, rather than just verbally listing whatever is available to someone( this could just have been a one off as my stay was during the COVID-19 epidemic). There is ample parking with secured entry. check out was unremarkable- quick and efficient.

Beautiful Hotel and very welcoming
The whole staff was very welcoming and helpful at all times. The hotel was very clean. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed staying in the hotel and would not mind staying there again. Good hotel, good wifi
The last time I stayed at this hotel was a few years back, and the wifi connection was bad, hence I stayed at other hotels after that. However, this round, too my pleasant surprise, the wifi connection has improved tremendously - this is especially crucial for someone like me who needs to get work done on the go and stay connected with my office back home.

Cresta Lodge - a last resort!
Not sure why we give Cresta hotels a second chance, this is not the first time they've disappointed. After driving four-and-a-half hours from Tonota and looking forward to a drink in the bar / garden area, we were informed that it was closed to hotel guests because of a function. Having booked a non-smoking room, this also meant I couldn't smoke my cigar that evening. Cresta always seem to put short-term profits before the enjoyment of their paying hotel guests - I won't mention what happened in the Cresta Marang (Francistown) a couple of years ago. If we'd had known the garden bar was closed, we would have booked elsewhere - having a few drinks in the inside cafeteria area is most definitely no substitute.

Okay, but needs better customer service
While the rooms were fine and the food was okay, the process of checking out to get my receipt was a nightmare. It took me three trips to the hotel to finally get my receipts for meals charged to my card.

Good sized rooms with good bedding and excellent air conditioning. The bathroom is nice but needs a good clean, perhaps an update to remove the old grout. The pool is good and clean to swim in. We didn't eat at the hotel as there is plenty of restaurants around. Easy access for a car and good safe car parking available.

Disappointed.
It was not what we expected. The hotel is old though the furniture is modern, it is worn out. The exterior of the hotel is not appealing at all. The pictures on this website are misleading. I really did not like getting a knock at 8:30am from housekeeping wanting dirty towels. One late afternoon the staff was sitting under a tree in front of our window making so much noise. However, the hotel staff were friendly when we interacted with them.

Could be better for the price
Several things fell short of what I expected, given the price. The AC unit in my room was noisy and leaking when I arrived (this had been noted by the previous occupant, but the notice was still in the room and nothing had been done to fix it.) It took them three days to move me to another room. There is no business center in the hotel, so no computer and no printing available for guest use. There is a wireless network, but you have to be in the lobby area to use it- there is no signal in the rooms area, regardless of what is advertised. Plus, it is unduly expensive. Also, the reception staff was not always as professional as they should be. A couple of times when I was at the reception, they talked amongst themselves in Setswana (which I do not speak or understand) and laughed. Additionally, an Internet voucher I bought was supposedly for 48 hours, but it expired within 24 hours. Lastly, one morning I went to the restaurant for breakfast and found all the food uncovered and flies on the cereal. So, all in all, I would say that it's not all that great value for the money.
