The unit is furnished beautifully with walnut and backlit ambience. The beds are large and feel luxurious.
Unfortunately there were critical issues that brought the overall rating down. A lot.
First is accessibility. If you have heavy check-in luggages, be prepared to spend up to 5-10 minutes lifting it up multiple flights of stairs. Not just stairs, but lifting it up on the flat ground too, because the entire property sits on top of gravel.
Second, there is barely light on the property, we had to use our iPhone flashlight to navigate to our unit when we arrived late at night. This was incredibly disorienting as we had over 150 pounds of luggage from over a week of travel throughout Tokyo and Sapporo prior.
Third, there is no front desk. So you have to figure everything out yourself from a single check-in email. This sounds innocuous but it actually turned out to be a big problem for us.
Fourth, when we entered the unit expecting to relax after a busy day of traveling on foot, we had to manually clear out over 13 stinkbugs, spiders and miscellaneous insects from the property using the provided bug killer spray. The provided canister was practically empty. Halfway through the process, we had to manually use wine cups and duct tape to remove the pests.
There was no front desk, it was late at night when we finally checked in. We had to haul over a hundred pounds of bags up multiple flights of stairs. And then finally we have to get rid of the tens of bugs to even relax?
