"All ok"

"We have stayed at Moxy in Plymouth previously so knew what to expect this time. The Hotel was clean and the staff welcoming on arrival. The usual welcome cocktail offered and gratefully received after our journey. We were also even given a choice of room which was nice. The room was as expected, clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. The first morning was relatively quiet at breakfast, plenty of everything and regular replacements when anything got low. A very satisfying spread setting us up for the day. The second morning was quite different though. There seemed to be a few larger groups and when we came down to breakfast there was massive gaps in the offering with little sign of items being replaced even though there was still an hour and a half of breakfast left. There was also lots of dirty plates and cups etc piled everywhere. There just didn’t seem to be enough staff to cope but the one or two that were there did their best. This wouldn’t put me off but it was a little disappointing."

"It's a lovely old hotel BUT... There's no lift and for me, age 77, the 50 stairs up to my room, and back down, were not easy to manage. The hotel, as at April 2026, is undergoing some renovation which made things more awkward and left a lot of mess and dirt around. There was no help to get suitcases upstairs. Having said that the staff were all lovely people and breakfast was good. The car park is useful but a bit of distance from the hotel and up a hill to get out of the car park and down again to the hotel. Rooms are somewhat noisy in the day and evening although Frome does get quiet after 11pm in the week. A bit later on Friday evening!"

"The welcome wasn't great. The reception was disinterested and not very welcoming when we arrived. No information was forthcoming on breakfast, parking, where the lift was, the facilities available we had to ask everything. The rest was much better. Good room, good bed, good location, good room amenities, bar tender helpful giving us ice and glasses. Breakfast excellent. Good checkout time (midday) Great location. Would stay again"
