For perspective on this review, I've stayed at roughly 20 all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Family getaway for 4 adults May 16-19 2024. We chose this particular resort because of their on-site scuba facility (more on this later). The resort itself is very nice. Property is a bit older, but well maintained and kept clean. Check in was easy. Rooms are small, but adequate for two guests. Large pool area that never felt too crowded. Beach is vast and STUNNING with plenty of chairs and palm trees for some shade. You can really spread out for your own spot. For us, the beach was the best area of the resort. As for restaurants, there are a few reservation-only restaurants and the typical buffet restaurant. We did not eat at the reservation-only restaurants. The buffet restaurant was good. About what we've experienced at other all-inclusives. Good variety and they mix up the offerings from day-to-day. There is also a beach grill for burgers, dogs, etc. As for the bars, there are two main bars. Lobby bar and beach bar. Both were fine. No top shelf booze, but your typical tropical offerings. Our complaint with the bars was that they closed the beach bar about 15 minutes earlier than posted everyday. As for the entertainment, I can't comment on that because we did not see much of that.

Limited dining options. Top shelf drinks are for Viva members only. Limited entertainment options. Limited number of lounge chairs around the pool and only one hot tub. Rooms and facilities need to be updated. Service is generally good but usually hit or miss. Overall, though, a decent resort for the very reasonable price.

The property is outdated in some areas. We did not have hot water the first night because no one told us to turn it the opposite way and let it run for a while. We were having trouble with our key, but they work all that out. The food was very good. would have been better if it would’ve stayed hot. The entertainment and staff was amazing. I would definitely come stay again.

Very disappointed, this was a gift for my husband for his B-day. Gave us the key of an occupied room to start, the add offers 4 restaurants which is NOT TRUE, 1 buffet area no that big deal and 1 small mexican place that needs reservations. We arrived at 4 pm, without lunch and was IMPOSSIBLE to get something to eat in a ALL INCLUSIVE PLAN. The front desk sent us to the pool area for food to find empty trays full of flies. The convenient store do not charge to the room, and do not accept purchases for less than $10. The bar tender of the area pool is very rude and disrespectful. But who cares, I have been reading the bad reviews, sadly after and no before booking, and the answer from the hotel it is always the same, copy and paste non sense answer. I wanted something special for my husband and ended very embarrassed. I don't understand how Expedia do not check the veracity of the places that they promote. A totally fraud!

It was a bit rundown and my door lock didn’t work half the time. There were also a lot of property perks and features I couldn’t use because I wasn’t a member or VIP that no one warned me about. The beach and pool were beautiful but small. The food was average and limited. Everyone was very friendly and helpful except for “engineering” who took 5 reports on three different days before they came to fix my door.

We came for our honeymoon and we were put in a horrible room - got into room, was hair in the shower drain, the bathroom sink hadn’t been cleaned and then I got bitten by bed bugs - it was horrible - almost 14 days of itchy skin, massive red bumps all over my arms and neck and back. They comped us a week but still we paid a lot to come here for 3w and it was the first vacation in 6 years so pretty disgusting to have to spend the first 2 weeks of it so uncomfortable and stuck ina long sleeve shirt to hide the bites, reluctantly moved us to a much nicer room that was really clean but the hotel is tired, the activities around the pool are very noisy and it’s all day long, boom boom - not that relaxing unfortunately but great for if you are coming to drink and party I guess. I think the local staff are not treated that well by management here either at times because a lot of them don’t seem overly happy, having travelled to the Bahamas many times it’s my first time seeing locals not very up beat. It’s the right price but know what you are getting will reflect that. Food is very oily as well with limited options of lean protein. But the fish on the grill was always really good - I know the staff try but again management and owners of this hotel don’t really care is the feel we got. Get out of the hotel, rent a car or a scooter and experience the true friendliness and culture outside of this place, it’s a beautiful island and people are very friendly and helpful. Good luck!

Housekeeping needs to do better , I did not like that our room smelled like straight up bleach, I had the do not disturb pass on the door and housekeeping knocked on the door and I had to yell through the door nicely to come later , she still unlocked the door with master keys. Its average The staff member didn't fix my window cover while i made complaint about. By the time i checked out at 6 am in the morning nobody was at the desk so i ended up giving my keys to transport guy. Food was average not many fish items. Overall average. The food was good, beach was beautiful and staff were nice. But the rooms were small and outdated. There was not even a chair to sit in. Also the green rooms advertised are for members only. If you aren't picky about rooms you can have a great time. I got over it because the place was clean. Had a blast! Watch out for the seagulls. They will try to get your food on the beach.

Generally a nice relaxing place. I have two suggestions. First, heat the pool in the colder months so people are comfortable. The ocean and pool were so cold it was uncomfortable. Second, why was there no bacon for the early risers? It didn't come out until 9 each day.

It was nice not to have other resorts on the beach. Beach and ocean was an A. We liked the eco friendliness of the resort. Bring your yetties no bottled water. And bar drinks stay cold on beach/pool. Unfortunately the Junkanoo Cafe food was fair at best. Lots of carbs/starches and the food was cold. The rooms need an update and there was a lack of attention to detail. For example our toilet paper holder was broken. It was hard to find fresh washcloths from housekeeping. There also should be a better way to communicate with your guests what is going on at the resort on a daily basis. We were also disappointed to find that we could not eat at one of your dinner restaurants every night. When we booked ALL INCLUSIVE we know that means you have access to all food options like in other resorts we visited. The pool was cold and lacked shaded areas. The food by the pool/beach had a nice set up with food but again it was cold. Cold hamburgers and fries just are not tasty. Cooked to order would have been better and worth the wait for hot food.

We specifically requested King beds during booking and were told that none were available. Beds were small, which made sleep for the week extremely uncomfortable. Our A/C also leaked onto the floor (puddles, needing towels for cleanup), and we have been hounded with calls from the resort for timeshare purposes since our stay.

Property was nice, however there were several parts of the stay that made it less than acceptable. 1. Unless you pick up beach towels before 9am they will be out for the day. Which leads the customers to keep them overnight, buy more. 2. You cannot book restaurants upon check-in and they are sold out for the week. We questioned so they booked our party of 6 for a table for 4. But upon arrival and through most the entire meal there were 5-6 out of 20 tables actually had people sitting at it. Keep in mind you only get two booked meals, best of luck making it happen. 3. Buffett was nothing worth raving about. Most of it was bland and didn’t make sense especially on themed nights. Do not go with children that do not want to venture out into entree options that are odd. Overall not kid friendly when it comes to food. And the 3 adults didn’t like much of what we had to seek out each night. 4. No hot water the last day we were there. 5. Jerry the manager at Dolce vita, Jedd with the entertainment staff and the entire dive staff was exceptional!

I recently stayed at Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham for 4 days with my partner, and it was a delightful experience. We had the opportunity to dine in two restaurants on-site, and the food was exceptional, especially the tuna steak, which was the best I’ve ever had. While the buffet offered average options with not many choices, the dishes were still tasty. The entertainment options were plentiful, with nightly shows and live music at the bar, where the talented performer added to the ambiance. The white sand beach and warm, clear blue water were absolutely stunning, making it an ideal setting for relaxation. Despite being a smaller resort, everything we needed was conveniently close, creating a cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our rooms were cleaned daily. Although the rooms were standard and the resort itself is not new, it was clean and inviting. However, I would advise future travelers to be cautious when booking packages, especially from New York. In our case, the package only included a flight to Nassau, and upon arrival, we discovered that the resort is located on a different island, requiring an additional 30-minute flight, which came at a significant cost. Therefore, I recommend ensuring that your flight is booked to Freeport Grand Bahama Island if you plan to stay at this resort. Overall, our experience with the hotel was wonderful, but our experience with the Expedia package left much to be desired.

No water in the rooms refrigerator. If you call for some, the ONLY person with a key to that storage just left or he comes in tomorrow at 10, Oh that person is nit here and we can get that for you tomorrow, blah, blah, blah! While there, they ran out of regular coffee and all they could put in your room was decaf. Thanks but why don’t we just drink hot water? Poorly managed property! The food is pretty good, but could be better. It’s a shame, as the property itself is amazing!
