City Mills Hotel
5/5 Excellent
"This was my first stay at this property, and it quickly became my home away from home. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for. The lady at the front desk noticed how hot I was and immediately offered me a bottle of cold water. After check-in, we had a lovely chat, and she even walked me to the elevator. That level of hospitality truly set the tone for the rest of my stay. Every staff member I encountered greeted me with a smile. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was peaceful and welcoming.
I stayed in Room 406, which offered a beautiful view of the Chattahoochee River, Mercer University, and the historic building that houses the Mill-House Kitchen & Bar. The room was spotless, stylish, and quiet—so quiet, in fact, that I didn’t hear a sound the entire weekend. It felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, complete with blackout curtains, a large flat-screen TV, and a small refrigerator (note: no microwave). The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-stocked.
Breakfast exceeded expectations. The butter croissants were fresh and flaky, and there was a great variety: grits, eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham, and plenty of juice and coffee. Ms. Peggy, who was overseeing breakfast, was an absolute delight. She sat and chatted with my husband and me while the room was quiet, and we ended up sharing a wonderful conversation and plenty of laughs. She truly made our morning special.
I highly recommend this little gem to anyone. "
