The hotel is clearly aging, and it shows in certain areas. That said, the rooms were comfortable and the overall property was fairly quiet. Staff were courteous. I slept well during my stay, which is always important. The amenities were decent, and having breakfast included was appreciated.
There were a few downsides. There was a noticeable smell of cigarette and marijuana smoke in parts of the building. My room had not been vacuumed prior to arrival, although this was rectified the next day. The bedding had some stains and the towels were frayed, which made the space feel less fresh than it could have.
It also appeared that a group or family may be living at the hotel, as they regularly gathered on the couches in the second-floor landing area. They were friendly and quiet though.
For the price I paid, it was acceptable, and I can’t complain too much. However, with some attention to cleanliness and upkeep, the property could be much better. Overall, I was comfortable enough.
