"We had a wonderful stay overall at Pink Shell Resort. The staff was friendly, the beach was beautiful, and the amenities made for a great family vacation.
One thing I think future guests should be aware of is booking through Expedia. Expedia appears to use photos of different room layouts and configurations under the same room category, which can be misleading. I booked a One-Bedroom Villa based on the photos shown, expecting the large balcony with the spacious dining table pictured. When we arrived, our villa had a much smaller balcony with no table at all.
I understand that room layouts can vary, but I wish Expedia or the resort made that more obvious before booking. If you're reserving through Expedia, don't assume your room will match the exact photos shown. It would be helpful if the listing stated that the images are representative and that furnishings and layouts may differ.
Other than that, we had a great experience and would consider staying again. I just hope the room photos are updated or better matched to the actual accommodations so future guests know exactly what to expect."
Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel Gateway
8/10 Good
"Our room smelled clean but the carpet had several toenails all over. I went downstairs and Jesse, at the front desk, immediately radioed for staff to take care of it. My daughter got sick and we had to cut our trip short by a full day/night. Jesse, again, took care of it and offered my daughter a sprite to help her belly. The pool pump was broken so the pool couldn't be used but that wasn't the hotel's fault as they had to wait on a new pump. All this to say, Jesse was the one that made everything about the hotel, a place we would stay again."

"La recepcionista , en el ckeck in , no tenía la mejor disposición, no fue amable .
Solicitamos el cambio de habitacion porque el aire tenía un ruido , la cortina tenía un hueco la silla del escritorio , en mal estado .
Nos cambiaron a la Suite, compensó nuestra estadía ."
"Excellent place to get away and relax! Room was clean and spacious and very well decorated for relaxation! My only complaint would be that there were so many people using day passes for the pool that it became too crowded for our liking"
"Room was clean and equipped with everything we needed. We had partial view of the beach from our balcony. The property is right on the beach. We were able to borrow chairs and umbrella from the common closet, and although they were a little bit up, they were free. Outdoor pool was small but enough for this size of the hotel and was checked and cleaned daily. There was plenty of chairs around the pool. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived after the office was closed but we called ahead and were given specific instructions and we were met by security and given the keys to our room when we arrived. Very happy with our 3 night stay and will be happy to come back next time we are in the area."
