Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Tutu escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• Air travel can be easy if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Next, find room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow too. • Airport security personnel first need to check that you have a valid passport and boarding pass before anything else. Have them ready to show.

• Electronic devices like phones and laptops will also have to go on a tray to be scanned. Don't worry though, you'll be back online soon enough.
• Don't forget to remove liquids and gels from your hand luggage. They usually need to be sent through the X-ray separately. Each item should be in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) and everything must fit in a quart-size (one litre), clear zip-close bag.
• Choosing your footwear wisely can save you valuable minutes. Hiking or heavy-style boots are often required to be removed and X-rayed separately. Slip-on shoes are usually not.
• Take all prohibited items out of your carry-on bag. If you have any sharp or pointed objects, pack them in your checked suitcase. They won't be allowed in the cabin.
