"We have stayed at this hotel multiple times when visiting the University of Iowa. It’s a budget hotel so there’s nothing fancy about it, and they say they’re a short walk to campus, which isn’t accurate, you do need to drive. This last stay we had a non smoking room that had been smoked in and instead of moving us to another room, they simply came and sprayed a freshener in the room. Not very helpful. "The hotel was nice, very large room and surprisingly very quiet despite being downtown. All the employees were nice. Breakfast was very good, delicious pancakes and avocado toast. My only complaint was the shower. Worst shower ever. Little to no water pressure coupled with the extreme soft water was a horrible combination trying to wash our hair and feel like it was rinsed clean. Just a horrible shower. "Been there several times over the last few months and the ice machines haven't been working the entire time."

"Pleasant and helpful staff throughout a 12-night stay on family business (funeral, etc.). Very good bed and linens, consistently good breakfast every day, clean bathroom and shower (more towel bars/hooks would be nice), quiet most of the time. Convenient parking. Public areas could be cleaner. A guest washer & drier would be nice, but there's a good 24-hour laundromat nearby. Pleased to see fire sprinklers everywhere, a safety feature every hotel & motel should have. Definitely a no-frills...

"I forgot to tell them our room had no water pressure. It was literally a tiny sprinkler coming out. I almost took the shower head off myself and tried to clean it out but I didn’t have time. It was clean, but looks like it’s being renovated. It could definitely be a little better. It was a cheap stay but you definitely saw the rust on the bathroom doors, the over flow sink would go all over the toilet paper, some of the lights didn’t work. But it wasn’t a terrible stay.
