"Parking was limited we were lucky as there was hardly anyone else staying- this is a B&B Not a hotel and is a bit down at heel hasn’t had any investment for a while - but nice family/staff good breakfast - overpriced I’m afraid"

"Arrival was easy, nobody manning reception but was not a problem, key left on the side clearly labelled and clear instructions etc. Room clean and well presented, good amenities, including tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. Room not perfectly blackout with some streetlight coming in round the side of the curtains, and a faint green light from the fire exit sign, not something that bothers me as I sleep with my eyes closed, but some day dreamers might want a blindfold. Definitely book for the dinner which is excellent and served in the small but intimate restaurant. Breakfast - really good with locally supplied produce - doesn't get much better. We stayed in the Bothy which was very big and even had a little kitchenette. "A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks."
