A one night stay with two dogs in tow. Not wanting to pay the big buck rates the more mainstream chains want for a place to lay your head down for a few hours I usually opt to try and find alternative solutions for lodging (not to mention the sometimes ridiculous and prohibitive charges for dogs). This motel had decent reviews. Decent rates. A small, reasonable premium was charged for the dogs.
So… from the street this is your typical looking motel. The type of place many would drive on by, a little tired in appearance, usually frequented by work crews being put up at while on out of town jobs. I have stayed at many of these establishments in my younger working days. Some perfectly fine, and some you definitely wouldn’t want to have to pay for, mostly staffed and owned by indifferent to aggressively negligent people. This Auberge is of the perfectly fine variety. Work crew was in attendance. Quiet and friendly. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Nice yard for the dogs and to sit and enjoy a couple of beers at the end of a day. Above ground pool for a quick dip on a 30C degree day. Nothing special but passable. The very best, and most important, part of my stay was the absolute, immaculate state of the room. I have stayed in upscale properties that could not hold a light to the standards of cleanliness this operator keeps their accommodations to. Very comfortable mattress and bedding as well. Shower with good pressure. I would definitely stay here again.
