"Overall Aya Resort is a beautiful place to stay in Cyprus.
I had an accident at the hotel and I found the staff to be clueless in handling the situation, I had to literally ask for help/ compensation etc. However I put this down to a lack of experience. When something happens you’d expect the hotel to go above and beyond in making it up to a guest particularly as it was their fault. I hope they learn from this, where I felt like I had to beg. It was very unbecoming.
Saying this the hotel grounds were beautiful and clean, we had an incredible room, and they did put together a lovely celebration for me as it was also my birthday.
Other points to note:
Housekeeping was inconsistent - there was a stain on our bedsheets and they didn’t replace it they just flipped it over. I had to physically ask for it to be changed. They’d
Sometimes not give us towels or replacement face cloths. However when flagged they were really helpful and moved quickly to make it right.
Majority of the staff were lovely! Big shoutout to Ramzy who started us off with feeling really welcome.
The food and drinks at the hotel are overpriced. I’m sorry but for what they are the prices are not justified. We had sushi that tasted a little off, and I had a paloma that cost €16!! €16 - this isn’t London. And a non-alcoholic mojito that costs €9. A Caesar salad cost €22, I would eat outside. Also they are really arsey about bringing drinks from local supermarket around the pool (they will tell you off)!"
