Great place. We arrived after hours and never met the staff. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Recommend updates such as a coffee maker in the room or on each floor, also a grab bar/towel bar by shower would be great. Finally, stress the fact there are no elevators and if your room is on the 4th floor you carry your luggage up 45 stairs. Staying here was a great experience staying in a historic building almost 200 years old and I truly felt the history!! KUDOS TO THE RESTORERS!!
The Shaker museum was beautiful and the room was comfortable in clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Two things the property could do to make the stays even better: make it clear that there’s no elevator to rooms. The staff is incredibly helpful bringing things upstairs, but they’re not around 24/7. Second, coffee in the rooms would be *greatly* appreciated. On an early Sunday morning, I had to drive across the bridge to Dunkin’ because nothing else was open. I understand wanting to keep the historic charm of the property, but small keurig machines would go a long way!
The Enfield Shaker Museum is a very unusual hotel but quite a good experience nonetheless. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable (possibly quite hot in summer as there didn't appear to be any a/c), but there are no staff on hand and none of the 'normal' hotel experiences and extras. They do self-serve tea and coffee in the morning and that's about it. After 5pm the place is yours (with the other guests). For a Dartmouth parent hunting accommodation on a busy weekend it is a very good value option and just 20 mins away. And the lake is beautiful. Beds are comfy - but no curtains.
We loved this location. Loved the history of the Shaker Village and the Dwelling had the museum on the bottom 2 floors. Don ’t expect a modern hotel, expect a comfortable historical experience. Staff was lovely and friendly. Rooms were quiet. Great hiking spots and close to Lebanon if you need anything/want a places to eat.
