Rodeway Inn Encinitas North

10/10 Excellent

"We were so pleased with the newly renovated double queen room. It was clean, bright enough (lots of lighting choices) and a dark out screen helped for a good night sleep, surprisingly quiet for being next to the train track and the coast highway. It’s more than half a mile walk to the descending steps to beach but through nice neighborhoods with a bike path to follow. So close to really great restaurants and generally the perfect hidden gem! We love it here because it’s still the feeling of small beach town, California not so inundated with tourists, more of a local scene. The staff were super friendly and kind too! The maids even tidied our room and brought clean towels every day! I can’t say enough positive things!"

2/10 Terrible

"The motel is being renovated, so there is loud noise throughout the day. One step on a staircase is severely cracked, with jagged concrete and rebar exposed. The property is right off the freeway. I have never heard such loud traffic noise throughout the night."

"The location was nice and close to the beach. Very steep hills to walk up and down. The hotel was ok, its dated. The kitchenette could use some updating. The refrigerator was hard to get a gallon of milk into, the door wouldn't open up wide enough with out us completely moving it out to move the shelves up or down. The stove had a short in it so the burners would stop working while trying to cook. There were no hot pads, dish towels and it would have been nice to have a full set of dishes. We had 4 people but there were only 3 cups, 2 bowls and no bigger bowls to mix stuff in. We enjoyed the terrace to sit on and look at the ocean. There is no one there after 6pm if you need assistance and parking is very tight. But we still enjoyed our stay"

"The hotel was beautiful, the pool was great to relax by enjoy the sauna and cold plunge. The beach is a short walk down the stairs and is a pretty quiet beach, it does have a lot of rocks tho. The amenities being able to rent a bike, beach chairs and board were a lot of fun. There was lots of good restaurants a short bike ride away. The staff was all very friendly and helpful."

"I needed a quite getaway for a couple of days and this was wonderful and peaceful even though there is a train station close by. The sound of the waterfalls and the room insulations hardly made it noticeable. The manager Chai was so friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed my stay and will go back anytime I am in need of a short distance getaway."
