Was not what we expected. The Jefferson had a broken front entrance door that the lock was broken. Very uncomfortable sunken down mattress. Stains on sheets and lots of bleach toxic smell on linens. Mold in front window.

The Edelweiss was an average country in. Too much fragrance on the sheets/towels. It was quite adequate. My real issue was that the TV had only 2 news stations and they both were FOX NEWS! I do not recommend staying here, unless you support the Jan. 6 coup attempt!

The gentleman behind the desk was very rude when we first checked in . Parking is sparse. Showing is very walkable.. Guests here not very considerate and noisy!!!

The room was clean and very quite. Bath room light /fan was falling out of the ceiling needed repair. The whole property needs alot of TLC. A little disappointed with the morning breakfast. Could have had some donuts or danish.

The dining room table has broken legs and tips over very easily. Also, there is a broken step leading to the front porch. The Friday night manager had a nasty attitude when he came over to see why the TV wasn’t working. Found out it wasn’t plugged in. Overall the place was ok but the few things above need to be repaired.

No toilet seat lid. Uncomfortable pillows. Intolerably loud A/C. Floor seemed as thin as the walls. Neighbors in 102 woke us up from 1-2 am. Called about this numerous times; no answer from front desk using any of the phone’s five selections. Door had to be lifted to lock it. First timer here: finding the lodge was difficult in the rain at night.

AC unit made a constant loud winding noise which interfered wigh our sleep. Faulty bearing requires repair! Bathtub faucet running constantly. Also a noise complaint. Repair required . Floor was sticky and the room had an overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals, as if cleaning isnt enough to eliminate the odours so, excess cleaning chemicals are applied to mask the odour. *The Hotel Management (Jon) offered compensation in the form of a free room the next time we visit the area.

Unfortunately, this property is not worth staying at despite its great location to town. It is filthy dirty and broken down. It desperately needs maintenance, updates, and an entire renovation. I couldn’t possibly list the numerous things that were broken, malfunctioning, dirty, unusable, or just plain disgusting. Such a disappointment and an embarrassment to the quaint town of Ellicottville.

Great location to downtown Ellicottville and the staff at the Edelweiss is very friendly. It's an older hotel, but the price is reasonable as Ellicottville in general is very over priced.

Only one bathroom in chalet (which sleeps up to 14; we had 5) could be challenging but I would definitely stay there again!

In the room we stayed, there was a leak in the sink. On a 20 degree day, the windows had been left open - making it very cold for most of our stay. Only 1/2 the outlets worked. The one plus was the short walking distance to downtown - hence saving us trying to find parking.

The cabins are getting run down and need a facelift. Not much has changed in 20 years. Furniture dated, heater makes loud noises making sleep in the downstairs bedroom hard.

This place was perfect for my brother and I. When we travel we don't need much. It was close to the mountain. It was a good size and a good price. The wall paper was ripped in the room and the hair dryer didn't work and was hanging off the wall. But we didn't need the Ritz Carlton. It was close to town so we could walk which was nice.

You could not pay me to stay here again. Holes in the walls, left over dirty towels in the room from the previous guests, garbage outside, dirty floors and cobwebs and dirty everywhere. We were very disappointed

The location was so perfect to walk to town! The king size bed was very comfortable, but our particular room was just way too small for two people. We barely had room to put one luggage down on the floor and walk by it. The two end tables were much too far away from the bed, we couldn't reach and put a drink on them. There were not enough accessible plugs in the room. We were not in the main lodge. In the future we will make sure that we only book in to the main Lodge, which are quite large rooms if you get 2 queen beds. This was our first time there and possibly the main Lodge wasn't available this is just the room that they gave us.

Came skiing for the weekend , did research on places to stay edelweiss was about half of the other places so know that going into it. The stay was ok, negatives were the shower and tub would not drain while showering. No room cleaning while we stayed and wasn’t the cleanest upon arrival. If you’re looking to ski and stay on a budget it’s very adequate, but if you are expecting a lavish place to stay this is not it. I would stay again with the expectation just a place to sleep and shower.

The location is great for walking around town, and it was a 5 to 10 minute driving to the ski resort. Overall it was a pretty good trip that was affordable. The staff were flexible and willing to accommodate me for a middle of the night arrive. I wish there was more available parking, our two rooms only had a heater in one of the rooms, which made the other very cold, and the door to my room had to be pulled to latch.

Dirty shower and bathroom, not very secure balcony double door, and an all-around uncomfortable environment. Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and despite having three parking lots, we had to park on the street

Room was dirty. The last tenants toiletries were still in bathroom drawers. Dirt on shower and toilet was covered with feces. Had to clean toilet before we used it. The tenant in the room next door was smoking so much marijuana that we could smell it in our room. Room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. If you want a cheap room in Ellicottville, this is the place for you. But if you are a clean person, don’t bother with this lodge. Breakfast is muffins, bagels and cereal.

Comfortable and Affordable
Comfortable and affordable stay near holiday valley. Extremely close to downtown and the resort. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were sufficient. Some parts of the room weren’t clean but not the end of the world for what the trip was.
