"This place was very clean and well maintained, spotless in fact, but the only "amenities" are vending machines with drinks and ice. It is more of a very clean and nice motel, not a hotel or inn. Perfect if you want to stay in that area. The immediate neighborthood around the Dunes is not exciting, but there are good bars and restaurants not too far. The employees and operations manager are very nice, flexible and accommodating, and I would certainly stay there again with the above in mind."

"Check-in was immediately stressful. I only had a temporary ID because the DMV had already taken my original, and the front desk agent initially refused to accept it. I’d driven 6 hours to get there, had no other option, and eventually showed a scan on my phone. He got me the room, but with a pretty dismissive attitude the whole time. Not the welcome you want after a long drive. The first night got worse around 1am. I heard a woman screaming in the hallway, what sounded like a serious argument with a man. She fell down the stairs. Twenty minutes later LAPD showed up banging on a door for at least 10 minutes trying to get someone to open up. I looked out and an officer asked if I had heard the screaming. It turned out to be a domestic/custody situation. I felt genuinely unsafe and barely slept. Room itself was okay but showed its age. The AC had a mildew smell so I kept the windows open, but they were rusted and hard to deal with. The bathroom floor was visibly bulging, likely from old water damage. Towels were thin and worn out. On the upside, housekeeping was reliable and friendly, the pool had guests actually using it, and the location is hard to beat – right next to the Metro and walking distance to Thai Town. If you just need somewhere cheap to sleep near East Hollywood, it works. But I wouldn’t go back, and I wouldn’t stay longer than a night or two."

"The assistant manager, Amy was absolutely awful. She was rude and would not give the name of the manager nor the company who owned the hotel. Our air-conditioning did not work. Our TV did not work. We called several times and they never came. I have stayed there several times in the past and never had a problem. This place is gotten horrible and Amy was the reason as well. They are trying to double charge us for parking and amenities. The place really went downhill."

"Room was clean. Bathroom had two towels, but one wash cloth and one hand towel for two people. Mattress was servicable, but that's about it. The hotel offers free exterior parking, but only 9 parking spaces, all of which were taken when we returned after leaving for the afternoon. Lot's of homeless folks in the neighborhood. All in all, the hotel is not a bad choice for the budget conscious, like me."
