We were served an excellent breakfast, Our host was very gracious to let us leave our car there early in the morning, before checking in late on the day of our arrival. Our one suggestion for improvement is that the bed pillows should be replaced, as they are all flat.

This is a cozy, comfortable place not far from Edinburgh's city center. The room was quiet and breakfast was delicious. Staff was very attentive and welcoming.

Not close to town. Bus took too long, so we used an Uber to and from property daily. Beds were hard and covers were musty. No lounging area or beverages available. Was presented with a hot Coke when I asked. The food was good and available when you requested. The bathroom was a good size and clean.

Great location close to buses to downtown. Nice breakfast and Shawn was a very helpful and caring host. I would recommend this place to anyone.

So friendly and knowledgeable. Felt we were welcomed family. Best coffee in Great Britain. Great breakfast that was included. Sad that we only had one night there . Shawn had great stories and knowledge of the area . Beautiful home and the rooms were spacious. Next time in Edinburgh no brainer . Staying there !

It was great place to stay with the bus stop right off the street in 2 mins to go to all the places to do I Edinburgh. They were great hosts and good hospitality.

Wir wurden am Tag vor der Anreise gebeten eine Ankunftszeit anzugeben. Da wir eine über 4-stündige Fahrt vor uns hatten, war es schwierig eine genaue Angabe zu machen und unsere geplante Ankunft lag vor der üblichen check-in-zeit. Dennoch wurde die Uhrzeit vom Inhaber bestätigt. Bei unserer Ankunft war unser Zimmer nicht bereit obwohl wir 30 Min Verspätung hatten. Wir wurden rausgeschickt zum warten. Es wurde uns auch kein Getränk angeboten. Ausserdem wurde vorab kassiert und danach gefragt wann wir frühstücken wollen. Wir mussten am nächsten Tag früh los, daher hätten wir entsprechend früh frühstücken müssen. Es hiess, um diese Zeit gibt es noch kein Frühstück. Wir haben trotzdem den Preis für ein Zimmer mit Frühstück bezahlt, was ziemlich teuer für eine Nacht war. Die Matratze war etwas weich, aber das Zimmer war sehr schön und sauber und Shaun war freundlich und bemüht als Gastgeber. Trotzdem war es ein verhältnismäßig teurer Spass.

Amazing stay
Wow what a lovely place to stay. Such an attentive welcoming couple, perfect close proximity to local amenities, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely and not a bad thing to say about our stay. We had a wonderful two night stay at this B&B. It is immaculately presented. We had a large bedroom and bathroom. Cooked breakfast made to order hit the spot. Bus stop on the main road to town only a few minutes away. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Trevlig B&B!
Trevlig liten B&B 3 km utanför stadskärnan. Värdfamiljen är mycket serviceminded! Shaun serverar dig en god "English Breakfast" varje morgon. De har endast tre gästrum så det blir aldrig trångt. Tag med bra skor om du ska promenera in till city center. Det tar c:a 30 minuter. OBS! Tag med adepter till strömuttaget!!

Delightful home and host.
Thank you, Shaun, for 5 wonderful nights. This delightful place is a few hundred yards from a bus stop that will take you to the center of Edinburgh in 10 minutes. Each morning we were served a delicious meal made to our liking from a list of delicious items. Shaun had some great suggestions on things to do. On our 2nd day, my wife's knee was hurting. Shaun had ice available and his wife even purchased a reusable ice pack so my wife didn't have to reuse a plastic baggie each day.

Best Host I've Ever Had
I've stayed on every continent, except Antarctica, and the host of Blinkbonny House was the best Host I've ever had. He was helpful with maps, literature, directions, suggestions. He graciously fixed us a light supper when we arrived starving. Our room was delightful and included a surprisingly large bathroom. The dining room furniture and dishes were lovely, to compliment the delicious breakfasts we enjoyed. Blinkbonny House is SO convenient to the bus stop, which is located between two beautiful parks (gardens). I will only be staying at Blinkbonny House for all future Edinburgh visits. I have some wonderful photos, but the website won't load them. Sorry!

Fijne plek om te verblijven!!
Een zeer goede plek om Edinburgh te bezoeken. Er is een goede busverbinding. De kamer was ruim en compleet ingericht.Het ontbijt was goed maar erg brits...veel eieren en spek. We misten wat variatie. Maar het feit dat je elke ochtend met alle liefde je ontbijt voorgeschoteld krijgt maakt veel goed. De kamer had een fijne aparte badamer. Alle ruimtes waren goed te verwarmen.

Greatest Little Secret in Edinburgh
My stay at Blinkbonny House was all that other top reviews have stated. The host Sean was extremely accommodating and cordial. Each morning a full Scottish breakfast was served to order in the immaculate dining room. My room was clean and comfortable with a full personal bathroom. The location is a brisk 30-35 minute walk to center city Edinburgh. The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is 10 minutes away in the same area. Convenient to buses to the city centre. I would stay at Blinkbonny on my next visit to Edinburgh over one of the big name brand hotels any day. Much more personal and better service and accommodations.

Disappointing. Received booking confirmation from hotel.com but arrived after 3:00pm and host was unaware of my reservation. Room/house was not ready. Cold dark room near busy road. Paid two nights (cash because card machine didn’t work) left after one. Moved in town.

Shaun and Elaine are very gracious and kind hosts, which is so important for a B&B! The house was perfectly neat and our room was spacious and clean. Every morning, Shaun cooked us a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs (sausage and beans optional) and different types of cereals were also available. To start the day off in an amazing little dining room with a cup of tea/coffee and a hearty breakfast is just great. Blinkbonny is a 20 minute bus ride from Edinburgh city center, with a bus stop just a 5 minute walk away from the house (bus 41 to 'Camo' takes you to the center). We had a lovely stay and would recommend Blinkbonny to anyone who is looking for an affordable yet perfectly nice, clean and convenient place to stay, just away from the bustle of the city! Great family find for Edinburgh visitors!!
This home is an amazing find! Shaun was outstanding as our host and adjusting when my nephew made unplanned visit to breakfast. Bus stops to go anywhere are only 6 minute walk. Fantastic stay and extremely clean and well cared for area home. The Scottish breakfasts were quite a treat so.

Great place. Very cozy and easy to get taxi into town and back. Host was super nice. Great breakfast and rooms were very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Perfect
So lovely - Stuart was incredibly welcoming. You can see how passionate they are about giving their guests a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful too, and our room was very large and comfortable. Stuart even let us park in the drive while we went into Edinburgh before we checked in. Would recommend and visit again.
