"Fairly new hotel on the north side of Carlsbad. Rooms clean and comfortable, hot and cold breakfast items. Everything works, would definitely stay here again. However, if you want to be close to the Caverns, this is a little farther away."

"The positives: I didn’t hear any freeway noise- it was nice and Quiet—easy to sleep. Parking in front of your room. Price was good for the area. The TV worked great. The bed was decent. There was a bathtub and shower combination.Wall A/C worked well. I travel with my small dog and so the best thing I noticed right away was that there was no strange dog/disinfectant odor in the room! "Once in a lifetime Wanted to stay here because we love La Posada in Winslow, Arizona and this hotel is owned by the same people. But it is not of the same quality very much liked the history of the hotel and the town of Las Vegas. Bathroom was very clean. The bedding was very clean. The rest of the room is not carpets soiled draperies very dusty furniture quite beat up, but if you want to stay in an historical hotel, give it a try restaurant just okay."

"We couldn't believe how spacious this apartment was! Kristi, the manager, communicated with us before and during our stay, and even had a welcome basket with goodies waiting for us in the kitchen. Our unit had a great living room, full kitchen, bedroom with two big beds, and pull-out sofa. And TWO full bathrooms. After a long day of hiking, it was just perfect for the three of us. We fully recommend High Plains Lodge!"
