"We thought the room and service was ideal. We had a decent view from the eighth floor (we prefer the higher floors). There was no hotel "scent" which was appreciated. It was a clean room that maybe had a slight whiff of fresh laundry which is ideal. The staff were gracious, accommodating, and helpful. The lobby felt high-end and "slozy" (sleek and cozy; a true accomplishment in design—often tough to successfully marry these disparate characteristics). "

Our only complaint is that the lights outside were very bright from an empty building across the road, felt like daytime all the time. The blackout blinds helped a lot but still had light coming in at night. However this was beyond the hotel's control."

"This is a lovely hotel, conveniently located near Fenway Park and the Charles River Esplanade. It has an old world charm with modern amenities. The service was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was clean and well-appointed, and includes turn down service. Comfortable bed. Surroundings are quiet. I was disappointed in the breakfast buffet; limited options, and not a great value for the money. Go to Café Sauvage nearby. This is a special hotel. I would return, and also...
