Top Eastern Australia Hotel Reviews

The Langham, Melbourne
10/10 Excellent
"The Langham was absolutely lovely and the perfect place to stay in Melbourne. We loved the river front location and all the great dining and amenities nearby. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is very elegant with Old World character but everything is also modern and up to date. Breakfast was lovely with lots of great options. "

Shangri-La Sydney

"Great location, though basic front desk assistance could be improved. First, the check-in process was very straightforward and got in quickly, which was great after a long haul flight. Room was well laid out, possibly a little dated but overall fine. Location is perfect, was able to walk to many places and only took an uber a few times. Upstairs there was a bar with great views and a great place to wrap up a day. I was surprised that I had some very minor requests that required no problem-solving just simple answers, but people couldn't answer them until someone else would show up. It was actually odd and an off putting. This happened more than once, and I found it strange. Neither the concierge nor the person that sat at that little desk nor anyone at the front counter could help. Fortunately, whoever was the head bell person picked up on these things that would run over and address the issue immediately. Whoever trained the Bellman need to train your front staff on answering very simple question and just basic problem-solving. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.

Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney
8/10 Good
"Good: The foyer and exterior of this property is gorgeous! Staff were friendly, welcoming and very kindly sent my Dad a lovely piece of cake and a card to his room for his 80th birthday. Bed was comfy and the robe and slippers too. Location is awesome and close to trams and major attractions. Corner suite was huge and spacious. Brekkie was decent, but pricey (we ordered from
Menu) and the staff there were great too. Room was fine too.
Not so good: The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. Chipped, dated furniture and design. The coffee area/ box was stained with coffee and dirty and bathrooms in both of our rooms had mould in the grout. I remember coming here 20 years ago when it was the Westin and the rooms were so fancy but they no longer resemble that of a modern, upmarket hotel. We were careful not to stay in Heritage rooms as many reviews stated the noise. We stayed on lvl 10, down the George st end of the building and the rooms were still pretty noisey. The bass from The Ivy blasted through the windows and you could clearly hear the buskers on the street and the tram. There was also a really loud banging noise in room 1011 every, single morning from about 6:30am. Repeated all morning. Sounded like it was coming from the bathroom wall so if you want to sleep in, likely not possible.
Overall, the service resembled 5 star as does the beautiful foyer/ atrium and exterior. The rest, not so much. "
