Good stay at Mercure Dusseldorf City Nord

A good stay at the Mercure Dusseldorf City Nord. Quick check in, clean and comfortable room. It's a bit outside of anything, but only a 5 minute walk to tram stop where you can get to most places. Helpful and friendly staff, although I advise you not to get to breakfast too late, as it's a strict stop at 10.30.

The room was very basic. No fridge, no safe. No complementary water. Had to ask for English tea bags and milk each day as these weren’t provided either. However the bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was quite basic considering the cost. Only choice of white bread/toast no brown bread. Restaurant & bar staff friendly. Conveniently located for airport but a 40 minute walk/tram ride into central Düsseldorf.

Fine for a short stay.

It’s a fine hotel for a short stay, but quite overpriced for the size of the rooms. The rooms are quite small but comfortable. The hotel is a short taxi ride away from the airport (7/8mins) and around 15mins to the old town area.

Check-in was messy and took 45 minutes with staff that was unable to clear issues of our 6 rooms group. Rooms were much too hot and couldn't be cooled. Opening the window next to the road was not a solution.
