The room looked out on an internal courtyard that felt very sterile and unfriendly.
The bathroom in the room we had was badly designed given the size. Toilet was too close to the wash hand basin and all the shower equipment was crowded into the narrowest part of the bath.
The breakfast was dreadful. You paid for a full Irish breakfast yet they were out of eggs, mushrooms, white pudding and tomatoes. I asked the lady working in the restaurant and she said she did not speak English.
The weekend we stayed, they were charging astronomically high rates yet the service and experience fell way short of what you might expect from a hotel charging half the amount.
Not happy at all
Reception checked me in and did not advise me that we have to use the key for the lifts which was poor, first time being there.
Also my rooms sink had blood marks on it, the shower took me 10 mins to get working.
Paid lots of money for 1 night, defo poor and really not happy.
Toilet not the best ans toilet seat was discoloured and not clean.
Come on guys £160 for what????
Also one thing I will say positive girl was nice at the bar..
Elisa
Thanks
Comfortable beds, clean and reasonable value for money. Great breakfast. Free parking. A bit out of the city and nothing much around it but busy roads, so you really need a car to access anywhere else.
Stay there quite often , the only annoying thing is the cleaning ladies & it happens all the time , 9am the door would swing open , lights turned on & then she would apologise & then an hour later there would be knocking at the door , strange when checkout time is 12 , lovely hotel , but don’t expect to get a lieon !!!
I liked how beautiful the hotel lobby is the restaurant looked beautiful even though I did not eat there. The room was very clean and one thing I didn’t like about the bathroom is that the shower isn’t enclosed and water puddles all over the sink and toilet area. I also didn’t realize there is a coffee machine with cups and coffee until I was packing to leave because it’s inside a drawer. I also wished there was a mini fridge.
"Our room was incredibly clean and comfortable, and the hotel had an excellent bar with many drink options. One of the things I appreciated was that there were plenty of transportation options available right outside the hotel. It was also very convenient to have easy access to the train, which only took 30 minutes to get to downtown."
The staff are really not on the ball, almost incompetent.
Check-in was a complete shambles, I was not asked to set up a restaurant tab or given access to the gym. ''It has been a long day.'' was the excuse given.
The gym had no water.
Parking is not complimentary either.
Other wise the rooms are comfortable, breakfast adequate.
Other than the above which is a training point for the staff.
There should be a coffee shop serving hot and cold food all day as in other 4* hotels. Very bad form to have to pay for parking as a guest. Our son stayed in a 3* hotel in Fublin and parking was free.
The Clayton hotel is lovely. Great decor and food and the rooms are a good size.
My only complaint would be good service. For dinner i had to move table twice to get a waiters attention.
At breakfast I waited 10 minutes to order something, before eventually having to find someone to ask. There doesnt seem to be much order.
On arrival at the hotel to check in was asked 3 times if I’d stayed in the hotel before. First time I was welcomed. Third time I was given a piece of paper with services available. Having been handed the key cards I had to ask which floor I was on. Then I was left to find my way. I found the door to the lift lobby which was locked and no obvious way to open them. The receptionist eventually spotted my problem and came over to take the key from me to open the door. I would think that having established 3 times (wouldn’t once have been sufficient?) that I’d never stayed in the hotel previously there might have been a bit more attention to detail.
I paid for my car parking also at the same time and was not advised that the €10 charge covered multiple exits and entry which I discovered when exiting in the morning and my car ticket was returned to me.
Modern business class hotel in an office park just off the main Dublin ring road, and close to the famous Leopardstown horse racing track. Not much in the immediate area, but easy transport connections to nearby suburbs and Dublin city centre. Good value for a short stay if you don´t need to be in the centre, but exprensive at track weekends!
