I was visiting during Gulf Food at this hotel, so hotel prices were very high during the time. This was the cheapest hotel I could find in terms of price. However, the price I paid was not even worth it. It is a very old hotel and the rooms are not too well done up (although they are tidy). The hotel has 3 or four night clubs/bars what ever you may call it, but very shady place to stay. Seemed like a pick up point, and god only knows what must be happening inside the bars/clubs. Not the there was anything wrong happening in the lobby, but the place was a little sketchy at night.
The rooms were decent, not renovated since some time, but clean overall. Housekeeping was terrible in terms of asking for help; there was an emergency light in the room that had a green light that was on all the time, and it did not let us sleep in peace. Also the fridge stopped working and there was water on the floor, but after repeatedly asking housekeeping to rectify both the issues, they both were unattended. The safe in the room was locked before we got in, and so we could not use it. Let alone asking for someone to come check it, as we didn't expect any of that service.
Since we were out the entire day and only needed the bed to sleep in the night, it didn't make much of a difference, but I would not recommend it to anyone (specially a family or a couple)
It was extremely close to the metro (the only reason I liked the hotel) and the area have many restaurants within 1 km
