"Great staff and location! I accidentally booked a smoking room so we did have a room that smelled like cigarettes. Be ware before you book if you have a smoking room!"
"Fantastic breakfast including fresh breads and Japanese hot dishes. Homemade fresh local tofu. Many organic foods.
Close to station and shops and restaurants.
Great view of Nara City at night during the happy hour or morning during breakfast.
Basic pillow was traditional Japanese pillow filled with beans or grain. Other softer pillows were available from the front reception area.
The hotel is working hard to reduce/eliminate carbon footprint.
As a traveler with small luggage at the end of our journey, loved that the hotel had a clothing donation area in the lobby with donations going to support medicine needs overseas."
"I always stay here when I am in Nara. It is right next to the train station so it makes it a walk to get to the main sights but it is awesome you don’t have to carry your luggage far. The spa is great, they have washing machines, the breakfast is amazing, it is super clean, the beds are comfortable, the elevators/guest ratio is good, and it is quiet. Only thing I hate is the light in the entry way is motion detecting…every time you go to the bathroom, it turns on!"
"Staff were absolutely phenomenal. What an amazing experience. We came in from Tokyo and it was such a terrific decompression from the chaos of flying and jet lag. The chance to slow down and enjoy this gorgeous area of Japan was so wonderful.
We were absolutely gobsmacked by the hospitality and patience staff afforded us as clumsy and exhausted travelers.
Wife booked a 90-minute massage that turned out to be in room. So husband wandered around aimlessly in his yukata until it was over, but happy wife happy life. 😉
Cannot recommend Nanenten enough. 10/10!"
"Walking distance to Nara Park, every morning it is a treat just walk a few minutes, we can feed deers. Kintetsu station is very close, if you prefer use JR, it is also walking distance. It is very close to the action, but I the mean time far away enough to avoid tourists flood!"
