10/10 Excellent

"Situated right on the high street, handy for supermarket, general stores, historic buildings, art and archive museum. Steampunk HQ 5 mins away and Oamuru penguins (the highlight of my stay) 5 mins drive away. Friendly helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, good continental self serve breakfast. Room was lovely. Clean and comfy. Homemade ginger biscuits yum. Road outside can be a little noisy from being on a thru road but thats hardly a biggie."

"Stayed two nights at the property. Property was clean and great to have a kitchen. Location was close to town but not really walking distance. There is a supermarket and Warehouse close by which was handy. Couple of things could be improved - couches were so hard, really uncomfortable to sit on. The lock on the sliding door was really difficult to use, needs looking at. Tried to let management know on way out at 10am but reception not open! Was good to have a free carpark with the 2 bedroom unit however would expect that given the price of $300 a day. All up 3 out of 5 stay for us."

"Lodging at this hotel felt less like checking into transient housing and more like experiencing the advantages of a meticulously administered private home. The overall design provided an idiosyncratic duality: the front façade presented a warm classic charm, while the rear opened up to sweeping, that framed the landscape well. However, the true magic lay in the gardens. It wasn't just landscaping; it was a living storybook. With its winding, moss-draped paths, rolling green hills, and clusters of ancient, gnarled trees, the grounds possessed an ethereal quality where one could easily imagine Hobbits tending their vegetable patches or smoking a pipe on a sun-drenched porch. This is also a means to visit Mt Cook and vicinity on a budget."
