"Rambutan is our first choice for our frequent visits to Townsville. The rooms are well appointed and always very clean. The location is very convenient with a range of decent restaurants in walking distance. The restaurants on site are very handy for when we just want to relax by the pool too. The standout for this hotel is the staff, especially Ryan on reception. He always makes us feel so welcome, and he is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure we have a comfortable stay. "

"Hallway smelt damp, carpet was old, loose and stained, wall outside room was literally falling apart and hanging out clearly from excessive water damage. Room felt dirty, stains on built in couch and decorative covers on the end of the bed, all wine glasses in the room were visibly dirty - clearly had been wiped out with a dirty rag. When checking in the front desk agent told me ‘we’ve just upgraded the room you booked to an executive room’ I didn’t ask for this … and the room certainly wasn’t...

"The staff location and facilities at the property and close by make it a comfortable place to enjoy beautiful ocean views with local entertainment and foodaries walking distance. Historic landmarks close by with multi cultural plaques readings and great sense of community. Will stay again. Recommend this place to those of all geners. Young n Old. "All good just renovations a pain"

"We recently stayed at Big 4 Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park in Townsville and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I had booked two cabins for our group, but upon arrival, I was only allocated one. When I returned to reception and showed our booking confirmation clearly indicating two cabins/units, the General Manager was dismissive and showed no interest in helping resolve the issue (maybe becoz I am Asian). We were told that the park was fully booked and that nothing could be...

"We were given a room with a view of the car park. It was particularly ugly and not shown in the photos before booking. When we complained we were upgraded and it was perfect. No fuss at all."
