"Visited Ashnil as part of a longer trip. The other Lodges have excellent dinner and lunch meals and service. Here, we were told on arrival that each sitting would cost us a small fortune for what turned out to be very mediocre meals. You are in the middle of nowhere, so paying for these meals left a bitter taste in the mouth for a one-night stay.
Service was inferior, period.
The bathrooms are horrible - see photos.
Marketing material must be from another time/ age when there was a decent...

"The area in Vio is challenging. The staff was polite and professional.
The booking did not show up and the rate paid for was not what expected.
From the site it appeared to be a nice place and probably it was 20 years ago. The bug netting in room was not in good shape. AC was a fan and had to share bathroom.
The location appeared to be ideal however it was really in town.
Was advised not walk at night.
Place is run down needs updating and maintenance updates.

"This is the lodge on the property of Tsavo West national park (safari). It is of the high quality accommodation with an opportunity to see the wild life and game directly from the room's balcony and the terrace of the restaurant. Two water holes attract various species such as zebras, giraffes, antilopes, elephants and water buffaloes. "Amazing Camp in the middle of Tsavo West.
All the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Our lodge was very clean, spacious and cozy.
The bed had a good and clean mosquito net and the matress was super comfortable.
Our terrace was right in front of a small water hole were we saw loads of animals like antilopes, zebras, monkeys, flocks of birds and even a crocodile.
At dinner we saw an elephant family coming close which was one highlight of our trip.
