"Visited Ashnil as part of a longer trip. The other Lodges have excellent dinner and lunch meals and service. Here, we were told on arrival that each sitting would cost us a small fortune for what turned out to be very mediocre meals. You are in the middle of nowhere, so paying for these meals left a bitter taste in the mouth for a one-night stay. Service was inferior, period. The bathrooms are horrible - see photos. It is of the high quality accommodation with an opportunity to see the wild life and game directly from the room's balcony and the terrace of the restaurant. Two water holes attract various species such as zebras, giraffes, antilopes, elephants and water buffaloes. "All in all - excellent. Food was varied, fresh, and well prepared and served. Rooms could use a few more amenities like ear buds, hand towels etc. Safari? We were lucky and did get to see a pride of lions, thanks to our driver/guide Martin. Special shout-out to Naiomi - who is the service specialist in the lobby. Great job! "

"From the moment we arrived at Salt Lick Safari Resort, we knew we were in for something special. Checking in and immediately seeing an elephant drinking water up close was a moment of true healing and set the tone for our entire stay. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous, and our room had an amazing view of the watering hole, providing constant wildlife viewing right from our balcony. The staff were super friendly and incredibly accommodating throughout our visit. We enjoyed several game drives, but the Bushdown Dinner was the greatest experience of my life! Being warmly greeted by a local tribe and burning a lot of calories dancing was unforgettable. Overall, I highly recommend Salt Lick Safari Resort, especially if you want the chance to see animals up close and personal. It's a truly unique and unforgettable escape."
