"Very beautiful historic property with great views & location. On negative side -large airy village units only have warmish water not hot - village units outdoor showers had waist high weeds - supper menus are 5 course set menus that are repeated & are expensive for quality - restaurant staff lacking management & training - receptionists could do hostessing/oversight at meal times & spot checks on housekeeping/condition of units and gardens to support and train staff but do not - lack of comfy...

"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality. Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. "This place is magical!! The main house was built in 1823 and some of the furniture is from the same era with amazing carvings. The tent we stayed in is spacious with everything you need. Comfortable bed and most amazing are the animals hanging outside your room. The staff makes you feel like royalty. Couldn't have asked for a better experience."

"Tolle Unterkunft in Mitten der Natur. Ein tolles Restaurant mit wirklich sehr gutem Essen und Personal. Die Zimmer (Zelte) sind sehr süß und bieten alles was man braucht. Man muss aber beachten, dass es kein Hotelzimmer ist, sondern ein Zelt. Es war ein schönes Abenteuer und wir konnten viel Energie tanken. Die geführten Safaris zum Addo Elephant Park waren ebenfalls schön, die Reisedauer beträgt ca. 30 Minuten. Wir empfehlen ein großes Auto für die Anfahrt mit Allradantrieb, da die Strecke sehr...
