"We booked this place for college graduation weekend at nearby Potsdam. Everything closer to Potsdam was already booked and priced astronomically. We booked in December for May, so well in advance. Exactly 1 week before check-in day I received a phone call from the hotel letting me know that the kitchen was undergoing a renovation and only continental breakfast was served. Bummer, because we were counting on included hot breakfast. No discount was offered, I was actually told that I could cancel...

"Security seemed lax as the back door was left unlocked for anyone to walk in or out. Much noise throughout the night of doors & heating units running. The heating unit In our room sounded like a freight train when the blower turned on. We ended up turning it off but then we got cold. did not get a very good night's sleep. Breakfast was continental style."

"The room was freezing when we returned in the evening. It was clean. The staff was OK. There was no breakfast. The location was convenient. "

The fresh brew grind coffee is ideal but takes time to brew each cup. unfortunately the elevator and pool were out of commission. we stayed on the first floor so the out of service elevator did not concern us. "This was hands down the coolest place we have ever stayed! A converted primary school in to a bed and breakfast. The rooms are MASSIVE! The beds were heavenly. Every detail was thought through. The hosts were welcoming and so knowledgeable about the area’s history. Honestly wish we could have stayed longer. If you are in the area this is a must stay. So different from anything else. Can’t recommend enough! "
