"The hotel was in a perfect location in the old town. A prominent hotel on the high street dating back to 17th century, lots of history attached to the hotel. The room was comfortable but in need of updating. An enjoyable stay in an historic building lots of atmosphere and character. Only disadvantage was the lack of breakfast although there are plenty of cafes nearby. I would certainly stay there again."

"Although our room was clean and sufficient, the hotel was basically closed. There was no parking near the entrance; we had to walk with our luggage down a steep hill to enter. But the worst was that after booking B@B we got an email the day before arriving that there was no food on the premises. I feel this was false advertising on the part of hotel. I would not have booked the hotel had we known this. We had to drive into the town for dinner and again breakfast next day. I would not recommend...

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful chalet. The property was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent, with lovely surroundings and easy access to nearby attractions. It was out of town, but close enough to easily visit the main attractions, while being far enough away to enjoy a peaceful and quiet stay. "We had an overnight stay..the staff were very friendly and helpful.The room was lovely,a nice size.Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was also a good size,shower was good.Not overally powerful but okay. I would certainly stay again"

"Definitely does not match the pictures on websites. Missing drawer handles in room. Toilet door swollen and won't close. Hallways are filthy. Piles of dead flies and wasps on window sills. Damp everywhere. Ceiling falling in with leaks. Wallpaper hanging off walls. Curtains hanging off rails and filthy. Door of room bangs every time someone else opens a door. As for the spa. All of the showers handles in the male changing rooms are damaged to the point were it breaks skin to turn on and off. ...

"The Lion Inn was a last minute booking but it did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was served hot. The breakfast was cooked to order and was a great welsh breakfast. The rooms were cosy but with a boutique hotel theme. Public areas were clean there was parking available with tables outside. The village was lovely too and the location made easy access to Montgomery and Welshpool. A great base for people touring that area. Wish we could have booked for...

"The peace, and quiet of the room, Was a large room, everything we needed. The staff were very nice, and friendly at check in. The complimentary biscuits, and water bottles was a nice touch to the room. Didn’t eat there, but the smells coming from the kitchen was delightful when was leaving the building, Great location, and price. Overall this place is excellent, will Definitely be coming back when visiting Shrewsbury again 👍"
