"If you're looking for the best value out there, ideal location - with a view, beautiful weather, and right down the street from the airport, downtown, and a full shopping center, this is the place for you. We loved working with Gabriella, who was typically right on site, just had to look or ask around to get her, then all was usually well.
Our television never worked or was replaced, no, and we almost had an attack from a huge cockroach in our room, biggest thing I've ever seen. But, some of those kinds of things seemed a bit more - expected, to myself. What I wanted was a safe location, hot shower if it was possible, cold air conditioning, and something close to other things. I received all those things, so I never had a real ...complaint (my gal said - "never coming back.").
People are good in Jamaica, and many looked overworked, don't care and will not pretend to be courteous or overly nice (very 'New York' style of attitude for many that we saw, but again, not a problem as I expected that and still had a lot we ran into that were genuine, courteous, helpful, etc.).
Money was very interesting to understand and compute for the Jamaica's Dollars versus American Dollars. But, almost every place that we saw, that accepted cash, versus credit, all was willing to convert to American money - if needed, without question.
Keep in mind, in Jamaica where we were at, Montego Bay, there were a lot of people right next to us, downtown, etc., that were hustling at all times $$$."
