Cahal Pech Village Resort
10/10 Excellent
"I was a solo traveler and the staff took good care of me. They helped me arrange rides, and with whats app (I'm new to it). I liked the resort options although I didn't use them (2 beautiful pools, gift shop, etc). I did many things offsite but the location was ideal for me. Nice views, pretty foliage around the property...My room was nice, clean, and comfortable. I love the area and the people were so nice that I met. The staff here made me feel welcome I would definately stay here again."

Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge, a Muy’Ono Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Overall had a wonderful stay at this quiet resort with my family. The food was delicious for every meal, and the staff were friendly, particularly Rita who went above and beyond in her service and was so kind and friendly, she just seemed to ‘get us’. The pool area is also beautiful. We booked a day trip to Tikal through the resort, and it was the highlight of our trip! Marco our guide was outstanding in his knowledge and so friendly, it was well worth the price.
Some things to consider, the welcome drink is a nice touch, but after a long hot travel up (went to the ruins on the way) to the lodge, we really would have preferred to go to our room first and freshen up. It felt akward to sit at the pool in our hiking shoes, and we felt sort of like we had to stay there for the drink. Maybe a drink ticket for later in the day would be a better option.
Also, the set dinner menu gave little option and was extremely expensive with no pricing. For our family of 4, we were shocked at one dinner costing almost $300 usd! The second night we were given the option just do main dinner, not all 3 courses, but the fact that nothing was priced until after the fact was misleading.
Other than that we had a wonderful stay, and would recommend for sure!"

Ka'ana Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Ka’ana Resort was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to San Ignacio. The moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs who accidentally wandered into luxury. The property is stunning. Lush gardens, peaceful paths, and a pool that practically begs you to forget whatever plans you had for the day.
Our room was spotless and incredibly comfortable. I’m still not sure how the bed was that soft, but I’ve accepted that my mattress at home will never live up to it. The food and drinks were amazing too. Every meal felt like something we should have taken pictures of but ate too quickly.
What impressed us most was the service. Every single person we met was warm, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy we were there. It’s rare to stay somewhere that feels this personal and still completely effortless.
Ka’ana is the perfect home base for all the adventures around San Ignacio, but also the kind of place where you seriously consider cancelling your plans and just staying by the pool with a cocktail. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting.

Howler Jungle House
10/10 Excellent
"A spacious and unique house with character - I was concerned when I read a review about it being run-down and dated, but that person must have been expexting a Hyatt. This house is right on the river with a wonderful veranda around the side and back, screened porches at each end of the house, a large well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The eclectic color scheme in the rooms was delightful and there were amazing artifacts and artwork everywhere you looked. The grounds were lovely with lots of native plants and a small platform at the river to sit. The pool wasn't large but had a great deck, partially covered, with a an outside kitchen. The best part though was when the howler monkeys brought their babies to visit on the neighboring veranda - incredible. When i move to Belize next year, i hope i can find a home just like this."

Cassia Hill Resort
