"We booked Langley to celebrate our Anniversary and were not disappointed. It is a stunning Castle a most beautiful place to stay for a special occasion. The staff were really helpful and friendly, they took the time to stop and chat and nothing was to much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Dinner and Breakfast were excellent with plenty of options, served in a stunning restaurant. I would highly recommend Langley Castle, will definitely be going back."

"A lovely hotel in a great location with wonderful riverside views. The room was spacious and very comfortable with plenty of amenities (conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom would be good additions). The staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of improvements I would suggest: some additional savoury options on the continental breakfast, and a different layout at breakfast to reduce congestion. Overall a wonderful stay though; I would definitely recommend Malmaison in any city."

"Staff very polite and friendly . Great location . Breakfast was very good with plenty choices for the majority of. The downside was the river view rooms did not provide enough privacy with the bathroom facilities and would like to see more screening if it’s not possible to erect a further wall or door . Perhaps more frosted screening could be put up ."

"Great modern and well maintained hotel. Just mentioning in case the hotel staff read this. Only negative was the tray with kettle and tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc. was placed in a shelf without a power point. It was strange to have to lift the large tray and move it to the desk next to the power point. I relocated the hotel directory to a higher shelf."

"The room on the Annex had paper thin walls and we could hear conversations next door. Fortunately for most of the week neighbours retired early. The last night the occupants came back drunk and played loud music along with foul language until 1am. Not ideal and if this had been the first night we would have requested a move. Otherwise all good"

"Couldn’t recommend The Tenpus at Charlton Hall more! We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had such a lovely relaxing time. We had planned to eat at the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh but lucky for us they were a chef down and couldn’t accommodate us so we ate in the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding. I didn’t catch our servers name but he was so friendly and made us very welcome. Food was delicious. Can’t wait to book again… absolutely loved everything about our visit."

"Avoid like the plague. This place costs an unjustifiable fortune, probably because of the location which is central, but it is a glorified travelodge at best. Nowhere near 4-star quality in any respect, despite claiming to be. Basic rooms with basic facilities. The entrance is nothing more than a grimy lobby with lifts, (4-star!) when I arrived back at 2215 I was confronted aggressively by a bouncer who demanded my details and room number, when I refused to give these details I was followed...

"The room seems to be part way through some renovations but the walls still need painting. The bathroom had a major leak so the floor was always wet a d we had to use multiple towels to stop it spreading into the rest of the room. The staff were extremely polite and as helpful as possible with the issue. We had room 33 and the window looked into an internal alcove which was invaded by pidgeons which were quite noisy at 6am and smelt weird. There is no onsite parking"
